♦ Program established in 2005 with Formulation Authorization Document complete in August 2006

♦ CxP is organized modeled on Apollo “5 box” structure

♦ CxP is hosted at JSC with participation and support from all Agency centers

♦ Aggressive tempo for standing up CxP with Projects, requirements definition, and procurements proceeding concurrently•

Includes establishing frameworks for content implementation •

Ares 1-X flight is scheduled for April ‘09

♦ CxP resources are constrained in the front end - drive focus on management of reserves, cash flow, and schedule

♦ Efforts to “close” the technical baseline and align margins between Orion and Ares elements underway

Includes a robust test plan with two human test flights prior to
