TerraFusion - Consolid Ltd Roads construction, started construction on 1987 by manufacturing the main product
Consolid Soil Stabilizer which is updated to EcoRoad. EcoRoad is high tech soil stabilization based on enzymes and
soil water proofing that is different from the traditional methods as it makes compaction totally irreversible. EcoRoad
System is universal technology which is improving and stabilizing the situ soils for each kind of earthwork and
highway engineering for permitting with max. EcoRoad System improves the local soils bearing capacity, CBR value
up to 2-4 times without borrowing any other construction materials as crushed stones and gravel its enzyme-based
formula works to change the properties of the soil and create a permanent base that resists water penetration, weather
and wear. Besides EcoRoad system stops the capillary rise of the sub-base and base of the roads.
The EcoRoad concept was upgraded in 1997 by TerraFusion. TerraFusion worked for 7 years to conduct a series of
rigorous laboratory and international field tests to refine the road stabilization technology utilized in EcoRoads. With
the successful launch of EcoRoad system, we now offers a range of other biomass-based construction products that
help clients save money, simplify construction processes and reduce their environmental impact.
EcoRoad System is used since 1987 up today in more than 50 countries and more than 30.000 km of road and many
earthwork projects have been built in South America, Africa, Europe, Middle east, USA and Canada with our joint
company we produce the EcoRoad material to build and repair roads.
In 2010 TerraFusion - Consolid after many years of research came out with a simple and upgraded ready mix product
as EcoRoad which is a clean and easy to work and saves time and money. Our speed is one Km. per day for one team.
Shelf life of our roads without any maintenance is not less than twenty years. Strength of Consolid Eco Roads is duple

Roads Solution Eco Friendly Soil Stabilization:
Using Eco, is constructing cost effective, strong and durable all weather roads, with short time to market, using
on site soil.
The Construction of the Eco layer is followed using a Water Truck with the material, Motor grader/Recycler
for mixing in-situ Motor Grader for leveling and Compactor/Roller.
Process of Eco with soil in depth of 20 cm (One Layer) is enough to sustain traffic of up to 70 ton.
Eco treated layer does not absorb water-mud. Therefore any other associated wet weather problems are
minimal during wet seasons.

We are using Green environmental-friendly and non-contaminant material -Eco Bio enEcoatic material is made
of natural material and doesn’t harm the environment.

No cutting of mountains. The use of situ soil is available wherever project is executed.
Eco acts upon organic fines contained in the soil through a catalytic bonding process, which causes the soil to
bond during compaction into a dense permanent base which resists water penetration, weathering and wear.
Eco system allows for complex mineral formation (Ca-Al-S, Ca-Si, Ca-Al-Si, etc.) without jeopardy of
expansion. No cracking or aggressive exothermic reactions take place with Consolid system. Eco system produces a highly durable irreversible layer that resists large bearing loads and is volume stable.
Eco system stabilizes the situ soil, irrespective of fundamental changes in soil.
Eco system increases CBR as well as durability, while decreasing the PI of the soil.
Strength gains are obtained over a longer period of time resulting in no shrinkage cracks forming in the layer.
Eco system decreases pore capillaries resulting in an impermeable layer and a reduction in swell potentials
(volume changes).
Eco system is not susceptible to freeze and frost temperature changes.
Strong reduction of water absorption through reducing the capillary activity.
The Proctor Optimum of treated soil is lower and the density is higher.

The Eco system is high-tech soil stabilization and soil waterproofing technology that is differs from the
traditional methods, as it makes soil compaction totally irreversible.
The Eco system permits an improvement of the load bearing strength of every cohesive or semi cohesive soil
by figures the 10 to 20-fold relative to untreated material.
How it Works: The chemical catalytic reaction accelerates the breaking down of the organic material and changes the chemical
composition of the soil at a molecular level followed by an alteration in the engineering properties of the soil. This
speeds up the cationic bonds of cohesive soil particles resulting in a semi rigid monolithic configuration. These
properties further facilitate the reduction in the crust thickness of the flexible pavement structure. The reduction in the
dust levels on the surface of Eco roads is yet another idiosyncratic feature of this state-of-the-art technology. Unlike
conventional stabilizers, there is no working period of time limit when stabilizing a layer with Eco. This adds a further
potential cost saving to users during the rainy season or in the event of machinery downtime.

What causes the problems on the road:
First of all, asphalt is not water resistant.
The water penetrates through the asphalt into the soil.
The soil (being a soil) sinks down by the water.
Air packets are established under the asphalt.
The asphalt sinks down and disappears into those holes.
This is the way holes and cracks are being formed.
The concrete is not a flexible material.
Therefore it cracks and brakes due to heavy loads and traffic over a long period of time.
More than that, water causes damage and cracks to the concrete.

Airport (Oct 2003):
Obviates the need to haul away existing old asphalt/base soil - Work is done in place.
New gravel to replace the existing clay base is no longer required.
Provides a simpler and more cost effective stabilization than lime or cement.
Requires only one pass with the Road Re-claimer - The work is fast.
Treated layer is resistant to the effects of moisture and lasts longer.
The top layer of asphalt or seal is milled with a Road Re-claimer or road milling machine to various depths
(usually 15 to 30 cm.) depending on the thickness of the asphalt layer, so that the existing asphalt is broken
down into small pieces.
During the milling process the milled asphalt is mixed with the existing Gravel (course grained materials) and
clay \cement(no need to add clay if existing base material contains clay).
During the milling process, water with Eco mixture is sprayed into this finely ground soil/asphalt mixture to
stabilize the clay/cement. The milled asphalt, together with the effectively stabilized clay components in the
modified soil mixture, provides a strong base layer.

The Design / Concept:
1. To eliminate use of Granular Sub base, WBM, WMM.
2. To stabilize the ground soil & reduce settlement.
3. Reduction in bitumen layer for cost savings.
4. Maximum use of available ground soil for preparing base for the Bitumen road.

Observations: The project consisted in road construction works. The soil was thoroughly mixed, leveled & compacted with the
help of heavy 40 ton vibratory roller to achieve desired level of compaction.
After 24 hrs, water tankers, trucks & other heavy vehicles were allowed to pass over the road patch. It was done
to inspect the road patch for any deformation occurred. Water logging for patch was being done.
It was difficult to excavate the 6“ test hole as per the sand replacement method. The soil excavated came out in
lumps instead of soft soil. This ensures soil was stabilized and well compacted. The CBR Value of soil
increases as the time period advances. We have achieved dry density of average 100% of maximum dry
density.
Conclusion: 1.The time consumed by the Eco is much lesser than the standard procedure. Loading can be done over the road
after 24 Hrs.
2.Reduction in cross sectional thickness of road is possible, as required thickness for enEcoe mixed soil will be
200 mm.
3.Thus GSB (Granular sub base), WBM & WMM in the Bitumen road cross section, can be eliminated. Use of
available soil on site can be used at maximum.
Description about Eco Technology:
ECO is a bio-enEcoe soil stabilizer. It is natural, non-toxic liquid, formulated by using vegetable extracts and
sugar molasses. Apart from being a concept accepted world over as a sound and resourceful road building
practice which completely replaces the conventional granular base and the granular sub base. It emphasizes on
strength, performance and higher resistance towards deformation.
It can be used in construction of Highways, Rural Roads, Townships Road, Secondary Roads, Airport Runways,
Road shoulders, Recreation Paths and Parking lots.
The cost economics of implementing ECO in road building is yet another appealing characteristic of this
technology. The overall cost reduction would be about 15 to 20 % of the total construction cost of road. Given
that there is an achievement in superior strength parameters at the base level of the ECO road, further reduction
in the bitumen / concrete layer is possible which would provide an overall saving in surfacing costs.

Observations:
The soil was thoroughly mixed, leveled & compacted with the help of heavy vibratory roller to achieve desired
