E l Cantábrico, limpio y bravío, acompaña la costa asturiana y talla su perfil en escarpados acantilados,

bellas rías y amplias dunas que dan al mar.Azul profundo, turquesa, verde esmeralda…el color del agua contrasta con el intenso verde que jalona la costa.

Asturias, donde las montañas se unen con el mar, donde las cumbres son atalayas al océano, donde las brañas son estancias con vistas, donde esta singular orografía crea un paisaje impresionante que inunda nuestras retinas.

Son trescientos cuarenta y cinco kilómetros de costa en los que podemos encontrar más de 200 playas, todas diferentes, porque las playas de Asturias nunca son iguales.

En invierno…el sonido del mar, pasear sintiendo la arena bajo nuestros pies, sentarnos a leer o dibujar, descubrir nuevos parajes en pareja o en familia…o simplemente disfrutar de un tiempo en que dejar nuestros pensamientos fluir relajadamente. O también sacar nuestro lado más activo y disfrutar de una buena sesión de surf, windsurf, paddle-surf, buceo, pesca...

En verano…resguardarnos del calor en sus cristalinas aguas, dejarnos volver a la infancia jugando con las olas, o descansar sobre la arena cálida, suave y dorada.

En esta guía aparece una pequeña selección que recorre la costa, desde occidente a oriente. Una sugerencia abierta para que cada uno investigue y descubra su playa preferida.

¿Qué más se puede pedir para días de costa y playa?

T he clean and wild Cantabrian Sea meets Asturias coastline and carves its rugged-cliff profile, its magnificent estuaries

and large dunes overlooking the sea.

The different water colours, deep blue, turquoise, emerald green, contrast with the intense green marking the coastline.

Asturias, where the mountains join the sea, where the summits are vantage points to the ocean, where the brañas (high pastureland) are sites with a view, where this peculiar orography creates an amazing landscape flooding our retinas.

We can find more than 200 different beaches along its 345 km of coastline because there are not two beaches alike in Asturias.

In winter, we enjoy the sound of the sea, go for a walk feeling the sand under our feet, sit and read or draw, discover new landscapes with partners or relatives or just enjoy those moments when we are relaxed and let our feelings flow. We can also be active and do some sports: surf, windsurf, paddle-surf, scuba diving, fishing...

In summer, we shelter ourselves from the heat in its crystal waters, we return to childhood by playing with the waves, or we just simply lie on the warm, smooth and golden sand.

This guide presents a brief selection that travels long the coastline from West to East. It is an open suggestion to follow and discover one’s favourite beach among.

Asturias es para tod@s, y precisamente por eso el Gobierno del Principado de Asturias en colaboración con la Cruz Roja Española pone a disposición de personas con movilidad reducida el servicio de “Anfibuggy”.

El Anfibuggy es una silla de baño totalmente segura, que permite desplazarse por la arena y el agua. Es de muy sencillo manejo para los acompañantes, y resulta estable y confortable para su usuario.

El servicio de anfibuggy está disponible desde mediados de junio hasta mediados de septiembre, en horario laboral principalmente bajo reserva previa de hora.

Las playas que disponen de este servicio son: La Palmera y Xivares (Candás), Rodiles (Villaviciosa), Poniente (Gijón), Luarca (Valdés), Toró (Llanes), Santa Marina (Ribadesella), Salinas (Castrillón), El Aguilar (Muros de Nalón), y Los Quebrantos (Soto del Barco).

Las personas interesadas pueden solicitar este servicio a través de las asambleas locales de Cruz Roja. En las playas de Aguilar y San Juan de la Arena, la solicitud se realizará a través de los Ayuntamientos.

Anfibuggy is a completely safe bath chair that makes it possible to move on the sand and in the water. It is easy to handle by companions and it is very stable while conformable for the user.

The anfibuggy service is available since middle June until mid-September during working hours and just under time prior booking.

The beaches offering this service are: La Palmera and Xivares (Candás), Rodiles (Villaviciosa), Poniente (Gijón), Luarca (Valdés), Toró (Llanes), Santa Marina (Ribadesella), Salinas (Castrillón), El Aguilar (Muros de Nalón), and Los Quebrantos (Soto del Barco).

People interested can request the service at local Red Cross offices. Requests will be at Town Halls in the case of El Aguilar and San Juan beaches.
