Physical and spiritual darkness can make us blind. Even though we have a 20/20 vision, if we are place into total darkness, it will be hard for us to see our surroundings. This is also true in our spiritual life. The news that we witness every day tells us that there are lots of people living in darkness. Perhaps, many of us have heard the statement, “we live in a dark world.” Not only that we are vulnerable to darkness but we are also prone of being darkened and blinded by the things in this world which can hinder us to see the real beauty and meaning of life.

The account of Christ healing of the blind beggar in John 9:1-41 is a powerful story of how a person can be healed of blindness and darkness. The formerly blind beggar received the light of Christ which enabled him to become a light for others. Being interrogated by the Pharisees, he said “One thing I know, I was blind but now I see (John 9:25).” The healing that he received from Christ did not only restore his physical vision but also freed him from spiritual blindness. His experience of healing made him bold in sharing what Christ has done for him. Against the strong pressure of the powerful religious leaders, he courageously shared his testimony about Christ. The gospel account tells us that he received salvation and worshipped Christ.

This powerful story is an invitation for all of us to be welcoming to receiving Christ light. As we are healed and rescued by Christ from the darkness of our life, from the spiritual blindness of our life, we are also called to be courageous in sharing our personal testimony about Christ. Being healed of our blindness, it is not enough to just personally experience Christ healing. Our healing should compel us to reach out to others so that they can also be healed of their “blindness.” Upon receiving the “light of Christ,” we become carriers of the Divine Light to the dark world. The more we grow in His Light, the more we will appreciate life and its purpose.

Jesus wants to shine his light on us and through us. Some of you might say, you just don't know pastor what I'm going through right now…but I tell you, just like the blind man, Jesus knows exactly where you are right now in your life. He is with you and he wants to heal you.

I invite you to receive his healing. Embrace the unshakable assurance of God's love. Let us be a witness. Let's tell the people that yes, I was blind but now I see.

CS Lewis said this: “I believe in Christianity as I believe that the Sun has risen not only because I see it but because by it I see everything else.” Our experience of healing and salvation should compel us to see ourselves, others, the world as God sees it. Let's cry out to God, be thou my vision oh God… Together, let us proclaim and share the amazing grace and love of the Light of the world!

Pastor Hubert has asked us to make a

with each other as a family of Christ to

take time to pray together. So that

wherever we are, we take time to stop

and pray and know that our brothers

and sisters are praying with us. For our

church, our community, our country,

our world, and all the concerns of our

hearts. Continue to pray always but at

7am and 7pm every day, let us all stop

and pray together. Prayer is such a

powerful thing and lifting our prayers

together will bring us closer together as

a body of Christ. To add a prayer please

email Jamie at [email protected]

The youth group will be having

a yard sale to benefit the mis-

sion trip fund on Saturday,

April 22 at Ed Poe Agency

Parking Lot. Please set items

aside to donate if/when they

you are doing your spring

cleaning. More information to

follow.

As camping liaison, I want to remind you all

that if you have kids going to camp this

summer or wanting to go to camp this

summer, all registrations are on-line this

year. pnwcamps.com will let you see

schedules and dates for all four of the

camps. There are elementary camps, jr high

camps, sr high camps, family camps and

more. A little reminder that if your child is

going to camp, register them by April 1st for

the $20.00 discount on fees. This doesn't

mean your child can't go to camp if you don't

register by the 1st, it is just an incentive to

register early. Also, once registered, please

let Kim Haack know which camp you are

going to. There are monies available from our

church to help with costs. Happy camping!!!!!
