(VIA LAPTOP)

FIRST THINGS FIRST• Start on the desktop and look for

the logo that looks like this:

Then left click on it

FINDING THE WIRELESS SSIDWhen you click on it, it shows you all the local networks nearby. At this point you click on the network you are trying to connect to, which in this case is “WatchTower.”

NETWORK SECURITYThen the next dialoge box that comes up will ask you for the Security Key. Enter in the password and click OK.

CONNECTINGWithin a few seconds it should connect you to the network, if not check the password and make sure you entered it correctly.

SETTINGSThe wifi standard used is:

802.11n WPA2-PSK

The router is located downstairs which is approximately 30 feet away from the laptop (while stationary).

TROUBLESHOOTING

• Some of the common errors encountered are inputing incorrect passwords. Most times it can be corrected by double checking the characters entered.

• Another issue will the strength of the wireless network from the router to the laptop due to an obtrusion and/or the distance from the router . This can be fixed by coming closer to the router, or installing a wireless extender for better signal strength.
