High Holdays at OE

Please see within these announce-ments the High Holiday letter from our president and the High Holiday seating form for Rosh Hashana and Yom Kip-pur. Your cooperation is appreciated in submitting your forms in a timely man-ner by September 13th but preferably by September 1st. Information about Yom Kippur babysitting will be forth-coming. An email account has been created so that you can inform us of your interest in and need for babysit-ting on Kol Nidre Night and/or Yom Kippur Day. Please contact us at your earliest convenience: OEHighHolydays-

[email protected] to let us know.

New Shul Policies

In an effort to put less wear and tear on our building, and prevent inappropriate crowding in our parking lot, the shul's leadership is asking for all our members' help in implementing three new policies.

ONE - All baby-strollers should be parked in the front of the building or on the side, under the overhang by the al-leyway. We want to cut down on the dirt tracking in on our carpets and the difficulty strollers present in moving about the halls. Thank you to all moms and dads, and grandparents, for your cooperation with this new policy. Members of our board of trustees will be asked to help remind people of this policy (as needed).

TWO - The kiddush committee asks that when you're done eating and drinking at kiddush, please dispose of all cups and plates in the garbage cans provided around the room. Please do not leave discarded cups and plates on the chairs, floor, or tables. Also, please check that your children's plates, cups, and candy wrappers have been disposed of in the garbage cans and have not been left on the chairs, floor, or tables. All garbage should be disposed of in the garbage cans just as you would do in your own home. Thanks for your cooperation.

THREE - In the interest of public safety, and to improve traffic flow in our park-ing lot, we will begin enforcing the 'No Parking' policy for fire lanes. This means that people should not park their cars inside the areas with yellow lines and in the area in front of the shed. Parking in any of these areas would impede the arrival of fire or police vehicles, in the event of an emergency (Chas V'shalom). From this point on, members of the shul leadership are encouraged to call the Highland Park Police Dept whenever they see a vehicle parked in one of the no-parking zones in our lot and to ask that the vehicle be ticketed.

Thank you for your cooperation with these new policies. For more informa-tion, please speak with Shul President Steve Deutsch or send him an email at [email protected]

We warmly welcome all newcomers to our shul and our community. If the rabbi,

Rabbi Kaufman, or the president, Steve Deutsch, have not come to greet you

personally, please come and introduce yourself.

We’d love to meet you!

An Appeal from an OE Member Family: Update

Thank you to all who have contributed to raise funds for a community mem-ber to attend 6 months of rehab. This person has completed the full pro-gram, and is, thank G-d, doing well. Even with the generous donations shared by community members, the family was forced to borrow thousands of dollars each month to pay $6,000 monthly for the program. They are struggling with significant accumulated debt, and our help is still needed. Please help this local family recover from extreme financial burden. They have generously supported our community in the past and never though they would need to ask for themselves. Please visit https://thechesedfund.com/cause/please-help-us-afford-rehab-to-save-our

-

son to donate by credit card or if you wish to make out a check instead of contributing online, please make it out to Congregation Ohav Emeth and in the memo write Rabbi’s Charity Fund. On a separate note (NOT IN MEMO) write that it is for the Rehab Campaign.
