This Weekend, all people of the Diocese of Orange will have the opportunity to donate to the Parishes in Collaboration Collection.

This collection is for the purpose of assisting parishes in the Diocese of Orange that exhibit ongoing needs that cannot be paid for by their ordinary income and has urgent needs (such as repairs and maintenance). All money donated to this collection is put into a restricted fund that will be administered by a group consisting of laity and clergy of the diocese. By participating in the Parishes in Collaboration Collection, all people of the Diocese of Orange are helping one another support the works of our parishes that struggle financially. Thank you for your generosity.

Bishop Vann has assigned Father Vincent Pham to serve as full time Parochial Vicar at St. Timothy Parish, effective July 1st. Father Vincent was ordained a Priest in 1997; he and I worked together at St. Norbert Parish in

Orange before he was appointed Administrator and later Pastor at La Purisima Parish in Orange. After serving there from 2006-2012, he was sent to Catholic University of America to pursue a Doctorate in Sacred Liturgy. Now back in our Diocese of Orange, he will be with us! Thanks be to God. A very generous person recently left St. Timothy Parish money in her estate. After consultation with our Parish Finance Council, and knowing of the practical needs of other parishes in the Diocese of Orange, our parish donated $25,000 to St. Justin Martyr Parish in Anaheim so that they could do some necessary paving work around their parish school. At the same time, we donated $17,500 to St. Polycarp Parish in Stanton for similar paving work in their school lunch area. Both of these parishes are in financially difficult areas of Orange County and they needed this work for the safety of their school children. Both pastors have thanked our parish effusively for the money for these projects which they really needed. The paving is complete; the children are safe. Thanks be to God we were able to help. Father Loc has just been named the Chaplain of the Detention Ministry in the Diocese of Orange. He will move to St. Barbara Parish in Santa Ana where he will live as he begins full time work serving as Priest for the various Adult and Youth Detention Facilities in Orange County. Let us pray for him as he undertakes this very important work of the Gospel. I know he is excited, a bit nervous, and always trusting in the Lord’s providential care. He begins July 1st.

Together in Jesus Christ

We are happy to announce that these children celebrated the Sacrament of First Holy Communion. This is one of the

Sacraments of Initiation that strengthens our relationship with Jesus Christ, as we journey in faith.

Let’s share in the joy of their celebration!

From earliest times, bread has been baked, blessed and fed to others as a staple of the earth. In our heritage as Christians, we have used bread as a sign of God’s presence. Let this form of nourishment speak to us of hunger and needs in our lives as well as all people throughout the world.

Lord, help us remember the many ways we receive nourishment

from one another, everyday.

Keep us mindful that we are bread to one another - that we need to nourish our

bodies with bread that will perish as well as the bread that becomes Jesus Christ who

gives us everlasting life.

Amen
