TRANSCRIPT
St. Mary Catholic Parish – Sunday, June 8, 2014
Stewardship is…Giving Back Stewardship is returning a portion of our gifts to God. The gifts we return are our time, our talent, and our
treasure. We return these gifts not because God or our Church needs them but because we feel an overwhelming
need to show our love and gratitude to God.
Congratulations!
To our 9th
graders who were sealed with the Gifts of the Holy
Spirit and complete their initiation into the Church on May
28th
through the Sacrament of Confirmation.

HELP WELCOME OUR MIGRANT WORKER NEIGHBORS
In the next few weeks migrant farm workers will be arriving at Buurma Farms near Gregory. Many times these workers travel with nearly all of their possessions and don't have room to bring a lot of things we take for granted such as laundry soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc. To welcome them back to Michigan and show our support all the parishes of Livingston County are collecting items to make Welcome Baskets for the households living at the farm. The deacons of Livingston County and their wives will assemble and deliver the baskets later in June once all of the workers arrive. St. Mary has been asked to collect donations of bottled water, laundry soap, laundry baskets, disinfectant wipes, paper plates, paper towels, and towels. Please bring these items to any of the Masses at the parish the next two weekends (June 14/15 and June 21/22). Please contact Deacon Randy through the parish office if you have any questions or need to bring donated items at a different time. On behalf of all our brothers and sisters working at Buurma Farms, thank you for your support and prayers.

RING THE BELL
Thank you to the parishioners who have listened to God’s
call and have given from their hearts to help towards our
Ring the Bell Capital Campaign. The Ring the Bell
Campaign continues to bear the fruit of the call to
stewardship. Please join in by making a pledge today. Extra
brochures and pledge cards available in the back of church.
Please continue to pray that parishioners will understand
God’s plan and the importance of practicing stewardship in
their time, talent and treasure. “What shall I return to the
Lord for all the Lord has given to me?” (Ps 116:12).
Please note:
The “Debt Reduction” fund and “Ring the Bell”
campaign are two different campaigns.
“Debt Reduction” fund: is applied toward our monthly
mortgage payments.
“Ring the Bell” campaign: the goal is to raise
$300,000.00; the first $250,000.00 is applied to the principal
of our parish debt, and the remaining $50,000.00 will be used
toward building a simple bell tower.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact
Debbie Miller at the parish office 734-878-3161 ext. 219.
