Constructing pinwheel blocks 1. Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of (1) 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" background square. Place square, right sides together, on (1) 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" red fabric square. Sew 1/4" away from, on right and left sides of drawn line. Cut along drawn line. Open and press to yield (2) HST units. Align diagonal seam of HST units against 45 degree line on quilting ruler, trim HST units to measure 2" x 2" raw edge to raw edge.

Make a total of (4) HST units, and sew to make a pinwheel unit.

2. Sew (2) 1 1/2" x 3 1/2" background rectangles to the opposite sides of pinwheel unit, followed by (2) 1 1/2" x 5 1/2" background rectangles to the remaining opposite sides of pinwheel unit to complete (1) pinwheel block.

For gold colorway: Make (10) R7690-Cherry Gold and (15) G8565-Scarlet Gold pinwheel blocks. For silver colorway: Make (10) R7690-Red Silver and (15) G8565-Garnet Silver pinwheel blocks. Constructing star blocks 1. Corner units. a. Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of (1) 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" background square. Place square, right sides together, at a corner of (1) 2 1/2" x 3" fabric 1 rectangle. Sew on drawn line. Trim 1/4" away from sewn line. Open and press to reveal background corner triangle.

Sew (1) 3" x 3" background square to the right of previously sewn unit.

b. Draw a diagonal line on the wrong sides of (1) 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" background square. Place square, right sides together, at a corner of (1) 2 1/2" x 5" fabric 1 rectangle. Sew on drawn line. Trim 1/4" away from sewn line. Open and press to reveal background corner triangle.

c. Sew units made in steps a and b together to complete (1) corner unit. Make a total of (4) corner units.

2. Sew (2) corner units to the opposite long sides of (1) 1 1/2" x 5" fabric 2 rectangle to make a row unit. Make a total of (2) row units.

3. Sew (2) 1 1/2" x 5" fabric 2 rectangles to the opposite sides of (1) fabric 3 square to make a row unit.

4. Sew together row units to complete (1) star block. Make a total number of blocks for the following fabric 1/fabric 2/fabric 3 combinations.
