• ACHAP was established in 2007 through the inspiration and support of the World Council of Churches to facilitate joint advocacy, networking, partnerships and capacity building of Christian Health Associations and other Church Health Networks in Africa
• ACHAP brings together 31 Christian Health
Associations and other Church Health Networks from 26 countries of Sub-Saharan Africa
• Registered in Kenya as an international Faith Based
NGO with mandate in Africa and Secretariat is hosted by CHAK in Nairobi

Conference objectives • Strengthen the knowledge base of Africa Christian Health Associations and
Church Health Networks and participants on global perspectives of universal health coverage
• Share country experiences in national health sector reforms towards universal health coverage and discuss strategic involvement of FBO health sector
• Identify and discuss approaches for sustainable health financing within the FBO health sector
• Discuss health systems strengthening and partnership opportunities for universal health coverage
• Provide an opportunity for ACHAP to hold its 7th General Assembly business meeting to review and adopt its five-year Strategic Plan for the period 2015 - 2019
Expected output
• Improved understanding of Universal Health Coverage and opportunities for scaling up FBOs contribution
• A conference statement of commitment and consensus on joint advocacy for universal health coverage in Africa by ACHAP members.
• ACHAP General Assembly held and five-year strategic plan adopted
