Workshop Session 1Understanding Case Management in
Today’s Healthcare
This session will present the model of managed care and case management used in today’s health care settings.
It will provide an understanding of the concepts, principles, and standards of case management as well as provide the process for becoming a certified case manager (CCM).

Current trends and research to improve our personal ownership in the areas of movement, nutrition, sleep, and positivity will be discussed.

Workshop Session 1Collaborative Care
This session will focus on the case presentation of a 21 year old female from accident to hospital discharge.
The course will investigate her treatment and recovery, detailing how the entire healthcare team (PA, PT, OT, ND, HS) interacts in the treatment of the entire patient.

Workshop Session 2Massaging the Brain? Considerations for Health
and Rehabilitation Practitioners and Professionals
This session will discuss the conceptual framework from which massage practitioners approach client/patient care and provide a survey of research evidence focusing on massage for wellbeing, depression, anxiety, and centralization of chronic pain.
Discussion of novel applications of massage combined with mirror therapy for touch access to inaccessible places such as limbs that have been amputated and practice implications for such treatments will conclude the presentation.

Workshop Session 2Identifying Malnutrition in the Adult
Inpatient: It Makes “Cents”
This session will be a discussion of the impact of malnutrition on financial and quality measures in the hospital and how the malnutrition consensus statement can contribute to improving both variables.
Malnutrition is a significant problem for adults requiring inpatient hospitalization. Protein calorie malnutrition is a significant contributor to 30 day mortality in many of these disease states.

Workshop Session 2Optimizing Exercise as Therapy for
Pulmonary Hypertension
Designed for rehabilitation professionals, both general and cardiopulmonary specialists.
This session will be a discussion of the unique challenges to efficacy and safety of exercise for patients with pulmonary hypertension (PH) based on current literature as well as emerging evidence from rodent PH models.
