The first software/ICT park in Myanmar, known as Myanmar ICT Park was established in 2001, in Yangon.
2 . M a n d a l a yThe second software/ICT park was established in Mandalay at 2003 and extend more in near furfure.
3. YatanarponYatanarpon Cyber city (north of Mandalay) is a much larger zone, focused on soft-based industries, hardware manufacturing. It is managed by the government but still need to mature.
4. Yangon Cyber CityMCF is leading as developer at new ICT area over 120 hectares of land plot development, Yangon ICT City with local investors for development of new ICT city near Yangon area. Land is secure and development is ongoing. 10

• Starting from 2016 Apr, newly elected government started after end of over 60 years military ruled administration.
• Previous Science and Technology Ministry and Education Ministry merged as Education Ministry.

Myanmar’s telecommunications industry under the MCIT now MoTC.
• In 2012, the government announced plans to liberalize its telecom sector and invite foreign investment.
• June 2013, the government awarded international licenses to Norway’s Telenor and Qatar’s Ooredoo, allowing them to offer services and infrastructure alongside the state-owned MPT.
In April 2015, the MCIT, now MoTC, announced that it would award an operator license to the fourth telecom firm, Myanmar Economic Holding (ME), is planning to partnership with Vietnamese military-linked Viettel Group and The Myanmar National Telecom Holding Public Limited (a local consortium of 11 companies)

Myanmar Challenges and Opportunities• Political stability is essential and improving can lead to social-economic development using ICT
• Need more standardizations. OpenSource and OpenData standards• Still migrating to Unicode standard from non-Unicode standard (long and confused)• National ID system, HR certification, Measurements, Location (zipcode) etc.
• Legal are driven force for industrial development. Speed up necessary ICT laws to pass quickly.
• Promote education enrollments (government need minimum secondary education), change education model. Add ICT skill from primary.
• More local contents for education, health, agriculture, banking, women etc. including apps. (e-Services). Promote Tourisms. Ministries need to update their web sites.

Conclusion
• At 2016 Myanmar get big changes in political system over 60 years and US sanction lifted September can lead to new economic and social development.
• Traditionally education is Myanmar strength that will need to re-emerge. Young talents from Myanmar at abroad willing to pay back and participate.
• Telecom liberation is already started and see it fruits but internet need to improve in terms of speed, quality, coverage and reduce cost.
• Government is largest customer for local ICT business and it utilization and spending on IT can promote local ICT industry and professional development.
• Business opportunities will increase for local and international investors with proper plans, laws and promote that bring win-win situation.
