SFA Launch Para Football
Association
On the 18th February the SFA held a
conference at the Inverclyde National Sports
Training Centre in Largs to launch the Para
Football Association. Representatives from all
Para Football groups attended including Willie
Pettigrew, Ryan Galloway and Craig Peattie for
Powerchair Football. An interesting day
discussing the format of the association as well
as some guest speakers including MSP Aileen
Campbell and Ashley Reid from Amputee
Football who gave a fantastic insight into the
world of PR.
The Para Football Association has put over £100,000 of funding towards Para Football groups and are really
supporting all areas in developing their sport. Within Powerchair football we have had fantastic support with funding
and advise from David McArdle and we look forward to developing Powerchair football within the Para Football
umbrella.
We also had some guests with us, Adam McEvoy and Sam Bull from the EPFA and WFA as discussions started
around our development weekend in May

SPFA Development weekend
May 19th and 20th will see the first training weekend for our National Squad as we continue to build
towards competing on an International level.
The weekend will be supported by the EPFA who will be sending support for coaches, referees and
classifiers. There will be a two day referee course with classification and coach training running
alongside. Our first Scotland squad will be joined on Sunday by players from all clubs as we look to
classify all players before the start of the 2018/19 season.
If you would like to volunteer to referee or become a trained classifier, contact us on [email protected] or
speak to one of your team reps
