    The Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs is aNGO/social organization engaged in the

    social and economic "upliftment of women through entrepreneurship". The slogan "Gearing

    women power" stands for the democratic structure of COWE and stands for Of the women,

    for the women and by the women.

    Inaugurated on 22 December 2004 by Honourable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, ShriY.S.Rajasekhara Reddy at Jubilee Hall, Hyderabad, India. Has over four hundred and fifty

    members who are entrepreneurs in the fields offood processing, information technology,

    pharmaceuticals,printing,packaging, manufacturing, retailing, industries, textiles and the

    like.

    COWE's vision is to build a women force that is economically empowered, valued citizens of

    the nation. By pooling the dormant talent, skills, practical knowledge and resources of a

    woman and combining it with her intrinsic quality of dedication and commitment, we will

    achieve this.

    COWE's mission is to enhance women's opportunities in achieving the vision by creating a

    resource base of technical know how, management, marketing skills, finance, infrastructureand equipment to promote entrepreneurship.[1]

    COWE are partners with ZDH-SEQUA. [2], [3]

    Learning, networking and enabling is Cowe's Motto. Study tours by delegates of COWE hasbeen undertaken to Australia, Srilanka, Germany and Egypt with the support of ZDH-

    SEQUA Partnership Programme.

    To enable women entrepreneurs to showcase their products and to networkwith memberorganisations in India and abroad, COWE organised its first trade fair, COWE's Trade

    Carnival, in 2628 October 2007, at theNecklace Road in Hyderabad. A sequel to it was

    organised in 2008.

    Automotive Park with 25 women entrepreneurs is being developed in the 30 acres (120,000m

    2) allotted to COWE by Government of Andhra Pradesh.

    The Andhra Pradesh government has allocated 90 acres (360,000 m2) of land in three

    different areas in Medak district for the Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs (COWE), acity-based non-profit business organisation, to set up exclusive industrial estates for women.
