Evan Mitchell has performed at New York’s Steinway Hall, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, and in seven countries on three continents. He has appeared with the Victoria Symphony and Indiana University Philharmonic, under conductors Darryl One and Kevin Noe, and in chamber music with members of the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra. His honors include first prize in the Kingsville International Young Performers Competition, Indiana University Concerto Competition (twice), and the Twelfth Annual Competition in the Performance of Music from Spain and Latin America (sponsored by the IU Latin American Music Center and the Embassy of Spain), in which he was also awarded the Jacques Klein Prize for the Best Performance of a Brazilian Solo Piano Work. Mitchell holds a Bachelor of Music, with High Distinction, in Piano with a minor in German and is currently completing his Master of Music (with an outside area in conducting), both at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music where he is a student of Arnaldo Cohen.
George Lykogiannis made his orchestral debut with the Orchestra Sinfonica del Festival di Chioggia in 2000, and appeared in concert with them again in 2007 and 2009 as Prizewinner of the Festival Musica in Laguna International Concerto Competition (Chioggia, Venice, Italy). In the fall of 2003, he made his United States orchestral debut with the Plainfield (N.J.) Symphony Orchestra . In April of 2010, Lykogiannis won first place in the GWUC Music Competition (Chicago, Ill.). He is also the top prizewinner of several competitions throughout his home state of New Jersey. In the winter of 2009-10, Lykogiannis gave several solo recitals in the New Jersey/New York area, including three educational assemblies at local elementary schools. The other recitals included two private house concerts and three fundraising events for the organizations TYMA, YPCNJ, and the Shandelee Music Festival. In March of 2004, Lykogiannis was asked to perform for His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, leader of the Greek Orthodox Church. Lykogiannis has participated in master classes with pianists such as Earl Wild (2003) and Frederic Chiu (2006). He also had the opportunity to study with several teachers including Alexander Slobodyanik, Boris Slutsky, Yong Hi Moon, Robert Shannon, and Peter Takács. Lykogiannis began studying the piano under Yelena Ivanov, with whom he continued to study until 2004. He attended Rowan University (Glassboro, N.J.), where he studied under Raffi Bessalyan, and graduated summa cum laude in May of 2008 with a bachelor’s in music performance. Lykogiannis prepared for graduate school studying privately under Lana Ivanov, and is currently pursuing his master’s at the Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music studying under Emile Naoumoff.

The second and third in a trio of one-act operas known as The Triptych depict contrast-ing paths to heaven and hell. Suor Angelica (Sister An-gelica), set in a 17th-century convent, was Puccini’s personal favorite—a tragic tale of loss and repentance. The popular Gianni Schicchi, set in 13th-century Florence, is Puccini’s only comedy— a farce full of greed and conniving.
