This unique concert of music, composed at a time whenBritain was in a state of religious turmoil, premières several pieces

that have not been heard in public before.

Cappella Fede, named in honour of the Chapel Master of James II,is an ensemble dedicated to the performance of 17th century sacred

music on period instruments with authentic vocal resources.

This debut performance by Cappella Fede is an exciting programmeof recently rediscovered works by Fede, Miguel Ferreira,

Giovanni Sebenico and others, juxtaposed with much neglecteditems by Locke and Draghi.

A highlight will be the world première of keyboard pieces bythe Jesuit composer Antoine Selosse, known to have been circulated

in 17th century England but only recently re-discovered.

The concert will include:

Giacomo Carissimi (1605-74) – Plorate filii Israel

Antonio Cossandi (fl.1640-60) – Dixit Dominus

Innocenzo Fede (c.1661-1732) – Laudate pueri Dominum; Nunc dimittis
