room block.7. The Joint Teaching Classroom is envisioned as four rooms divided
by movable, writable walls.8. The design includes extra classrooms for future enrollment
growth.9. The recently remodeled science classrooms are not part of the
redesign.10. The design co-locates three essential spaces that will foster stu-
dent interaction and collaboration while allowing for a “place tobe” before, during and after the school day.
11. An Open Collaboration Hall allows for presentations and dia-logue among students and faculty.
12. Maker studios are central to the school and open onto the Stu-dent Union.
13. The design includes a 90-seat Lecture Hall.14. A help desk in the form of a Tech Center allows student-to-stu-
dent interaction for computer and digital learning issues.15. To better enable sales, a Student Store is strategically located next
to the Business Classroom, Gymnasiums and Student Union.16. A Publishing Room is located between the Yearbook and News-
paper Classrooms.17. Special Education Classrooms are located next to a corridor
ending at student / parent drop-off area.18. A new Weight Room will face out to the play fields on the north

Basement Floor Level
1. The Social Center / Cafeteria will be renovated and expanded.2. Stairs and seating risers cascade down between the floor levels creating a transition area
linking the Commons to the Social Center.
First Floor Level
3. This existing corridor wall constitutes the property line between Idaho Falls School District91 and the City of Idaho Falls portion of the campus.
4. The City of Idaho Falls owns the Civic Auditorium and other rooms on this side of theproperty line.
5.6.
7.
The area between two existing wings will be in-filled with a two-story classroom structure. Since the disposition of the City owned property is unresolved at this time, the redesign plan includes moving Art and Band to other locations. A one and half story Band / Or-chestra room is contemplated in this location.Cutouts in the second floor corridor will allow natural light to reach the ground floor level and existing exterior window openings lost by the in-fill addition.
8. Classrooms will be grouped departmentally.9. Five (5) Faculty Collaboration and Prep Rooms are dispersed throughout the floor plates.10. For convenient access to drop-off areas, the Child Development Classrooms and Food
Lab will be located next to an existing entrance. 11. Special Education Classrooms are located next to an exterior entrance enabling better
access to a student / parent / van drop-off area.12. The Tiger Tile will be preserved and enhanced. Existing walls in the immediate area will be
removed so more students can congregate and flow through the space.13. Meeting rooms next to the Library, and also at the second floor classroom block, will facili-
tate small group learning. 14. Maker studios are central to the school and open onto the corridor next to the Learning
Commons and Media Center.15. The new main entry to the school sits between the Learning Commons and Administra-
tion Area.16. The Learning Commons will be the hub of the school. It is strategically located next to the
majority of spaces frequented by students and faculty.17. Railings and seating open onto the Cafeteria below.18. The existing practice gym and associated spaces will be razed to make room for new Ad-
ministration / Classroom Building.19. Student centered administrative functions such as Attendance, Bookkeeping and Counsel-
ing will face towards the Learning Commons. 20. A Student Store is strategically located on this intersection so it is adjacent to the Com-
mons and the Competition Gym.

21. A secondary main entry fronts the southerly parking areasand doubles as a gathering area for gymnasium events.
22. The existing Competition Gymnasium will be refurbishedwith new finishes, equipment, acoustical treatments andsound system.
23. The design includes new and renovated locker rooms.24. The Practice Gym will have two parallel full courts and a
drop curtain to allow simultaneous games or workouts.
Second Floor Level
25. In areas where exterior windows are lost due to infilladditions, skylights above corridors will let natural light filterdown to the spaces below.
26. In a STEM like grouping, the second floor co-locates theScience and Math departments.
27. By relocating the labs to the second floor, new ventilationsystems are readily installed and maintained at the rooflevel.
28. The design includes an extra classroom for future enroll-ment growth
29. Resources Rooms are nested adjacent to the main class-room block.
30. Existing Restrooms will be upgraded with new finishes andto meet ADA accessibility requirements
31. Stairwells such as the one adjacent to Tiger Tile can berebuilt and widened to alleviate congestion.
32. A large Computer Lab is central to the redesigned floorplan.
33. The design co-locates three essential spaces that will fosterstudent interaction and collaboration while allowing for a“place to be” before, during and after the school day.
34. An Innovation Lab allows for presentations and dialogueamong students and faculty.
35. Balconies adjacent to the corridors will cantilever over theLearning Commons at the first floor.
36. For the visual arts, a Drawing / Painting Classroom sits adja-cent to a Ceramic Studio.
37. A Running and Walking Track would run along the perime-ter of the building.

In Option 2, all of the functions and descrip-tions north of 7th Street remain the same as Option 1. This graphic illustrates key floor plan items should the District elect to con-struct the Practice Gymnasium Facility on the southern side of 7th Street.
First Floor Level1. An exterior at-grade walkway would
cross over 7th Street at this locationand align with the entries of the twobuildings. The walkway could be slight-ly raised and have a change in pavingto slow traffic.
2. A sky bridge above shelters the at-grade walkway from the elements.
3. The Practice Gym will have two par-allel full courts and a drop curtain toallow simultaneous games or workouts.
4. The design includes new locker rooms, visiting team rooms and storage spacefor equipment.
Second Floor Level
5. An enclosed sky bridge connects thetwo buildings at the second level. Itcan also serve as a gateway feature tothe Idaho Falls High School campus.
6. A Running and Walking Track wouldrun along the perimeter of the build-ing.
7. The Weight Room will abut the CardioTraining Room and be looped by the Indoor Running Track.
