Temples. Halebidu was the 12th century capital of the Hoysalas. The Hoysaleswara temple was built during this time by Ketamala and attributed to Vishnuvardhana. the temple complex comprises two Hindu temples, the Hoysaleshawara and Kedareshwara temples and two Jain Basadi. In front of these temples there is a big lake. The town gets its name from the lake, Dwara samudhra which means entrance from ocean. The two Nandi statues which are on the side of the Hoysaleshwara temple are monolithic. Soap stone or Chloritic Schist was used for the construction of these temples. Belur was once the capital of a powerful empire on the banks of River Yagachi, now called the Banaras of the South, aka Dakshina Varanasi. Belur's main temple, Chennakeshava (dedicated to Lord Krishna and set in a compound with several smaller temples and a pond), was commissioned by King Vishnuvardhana in 1117 AD to celebrate Hoysala military victories. It took over a hundred years to complete and its architecture is foreign to the prevailing Hoysala style of the 12th century – it is exceptionally large (about 100-ft high) and its decoration very lavish (with a magnificent gateway tower – gopuram) in Dravidian style. It is delicate in its filigree work, with the added attraction of bracketed figures of celestial dancers, called Madanikas and exclusive to Belur, and an innumerable variety of intricate pillars.

Gokarna Beach Break-Karnataka Places covered: Gokarna Beach

Arrival & departure from Goa airport

3 nights / 4 days As a small town in India, Gokarna is full of contrasts where it gives its visitors the better of two worlds. It allows one to peak into its history as a small temple town dedicated mainly to the worship of the Hindu deity, Lord Mahabaleshwara. On the other hand its pristine beaches and panoramic shorelines allow vacationers to enjoy uninterrupted sunlight, where one can soak in the warmth and enjoy their stay.

Gokarna is a small and remote holy town, with four of India’s most secluded and pristine beaches nestled nearby. It draws both pious pilgrims and hedonistic holiday makers with equal enthusiasm. Locally it is believed that the name Gokarna derives its name from a legend in which Lord Shiva emerged from the ear of a cow. Literally meaning ‘cow’s ear’, this village is formed by the ear shaped confluence of two rivers. With its narrow streets, traditional houses and plethora of temples, Gokarna is truly a favourite with the pilgrims, scholars and beach buffs alike. Combine this with the wonderful scenic drive to this quaint little town, where the rocky Ghats meet you on one side and the expansive Arabian Sea on the other and one can see why Gokarna is fast becoming a popular vacation spot.

Jog Falls, created by the Sharavathi River falling from a height of 253 m (830 ft) is the second-highest (after the Nohkalikai Falls with a height of 1100 feet (335 metres) in Meghalaya) plunge waterfall in India. Located in Sagara, Karnataka Shimoga District of Karnataka state, these segmented falls are a major tourist attraction. It is also called by alternative names of Gerusoppe falls, Gersoppa Falls and Jogada Gundi.

There are many waterfalls in Asia - and also in India - which drop from a higher altitude. But, unlike most of such falls, Jog Falls are not tiered, i.e., it drops directly and does not stream on to rocks. Thus, it can be described as the second-highest un-tiered waterfall in India.

3 nights / 4 days Day 1 Vizag arrival: Meet and greet by Concept Voyages' representative and transfer to hotel. Depart for a full day trip to depart to see Erra Matti Dibbalu. Erra Matti Dibbalu, translated into Telugu means red mud hillocks. These are the natural ravines, formed over the years due to wind currents and soil erosion. Located at Bheemili,

these hills are a popular locale for film shootings. The dunes consist of sand, clay and silt. Large bramble bush embedded in loose red soil, just off the Vizag-Bheemili Road, conceal the Erra Matti Dibbalu from sight. Inward lies, what MetroMela believes to be, Vizag’s hidden treasure and a heritage site that most Vizagites are unaware of – an amazing and endless row of breathtaking and towering red soil hills that sit amidst green shrubs and play hide and seek with the cloud-speckled setting sun. Years of weather-beaten handiwork and climatic changes have given Vizag a natural wonder to behold – the Erra Matti Dibbalu, which resemble a mini-Grand Canyon and are just about 28 kilometres away from Vizag city. Erra Matti Dibbalu means Red Mud Hillocks in Telugu. Popularly known as the Red Soil Hills,

these natural ravines spread extensively in various formations – some jagged, some deep, some maze-like and some creating walls along trekking pathways – thanks to recurring wind currents and soil erosion. Said to be over a million years old, they comprise sand, clay and silt and are acknowledged as a rare geographic phenomenon. They are also favorite location spots for film shootings and for tourists. While returning visit Bheemili Beach. The sightseeing tour will also cover Thotlakonda, Rushikonda Beach, Kailasagiri, Tenneti Park, Submarine Museum, Visakha Museum, Fish Aquarium, Kali Mata Temple, Ramakrishna Beach and Fishing Harbor. These caves were discovered in the 19th century by some British Officers who had been on a tiger hunt. These 29 caves were built by Buddhist monks using simple tools like hammer & chisel. These caves were the retreats of Buddhist monks who taught and performed rituals in the Chaityas and Viharas, the ancient seats of learning. The elaborate and exquisite sculptures and paintings depict stories from Jataka tales. The caves also house images of nymphs and princesses. The Ajanta caves and the treasures they house are a landmark in the overall development of Buddhism as such. Return back to hotel for overnight stay.

Pench Jungle Break Places covered: Pench National Park

Arrival & departure from Nagpur

3 nights / 4 days One of Central India’s lesser known reserves, Pench National Park is situated in the Seoni and Chhindwara districts of Madhya Pradesh.

Dominated by hills, forests and valleys, this national park derives its name from the Pench River, which meanders its way through the entire stretch of the 757 Km² Park. The river runs from north to south, dividing the park into almost equal western and eastern halves – the well forested areas of Chhindwara and Seoni districts respectively. Kala Pahar, the park’s highest hill, reaches 650 m above sea level.

A typical Central Indian teak jungle, Pench supports a rich variety of wildlife, including the tiger, leopard, wild dog, and gaur, and sambar, chital and brilliant birdlife. The Park’s open habitat not only lends well to wildlife viewing, but it also offers striking views of the area’s sheer beauty. This national park received international recognition from Rudyard Kipling’s classic tale, the Jungle Book.

Shy Sambar (large forest deer) is spotted slaking their thirst at clear streams. Kanha National Park: Kanha is one of India’s largest national parks, covering 1 945 km², and is located in the Maikal Hills of the Satpura Hills range in the south eastern part of the state of Madhya Pradesh. The Park has beautiful areas of Sal forests, large bamboo stretches and lush green meadows. In 1973, when Project Tiger was launched to save the tiger, Kanha was one of the nine reserves selected for the project. It is prime tiger country and is the project’s star success story. Herds of animals are found in the central parklands, where approximately 22 animal species are regularly spotted, including the more unique species such as the three-striped palm squirrel, common languor, jackal, wild pig and black buck. Striped hyena, leopard, mouse deer and porcupine also reside here, as do the chinkara and ant-eating pangolin. Kanha is home to the highly endangered deer, the hard ground barasingha, as well as sambar, chital and gaur. Kanha features approximately 70 tree species and is a bird watcher’s paradise, with over 200 recorded bird species.

Day 2 Jaipur: After breakfast proceed for Jaigarh & Nahargarh Fort excursions. The Jaigarh Fort is the most spectacular of the three-hilltop forts that overlook Jaipur. Jaigarh Fort is also known as the fort of victory. The display includes a collection of canons, many of which are exquisitely decorated and were used in the Mughal campaigns led by the Rajput King, Raja Man Singh. Of the Jaipur's three forts, Jaigarh is perhaps the most motivating. It does not have those delicate structures or palaces like that of Amber but if you want a quick look at a hard-core fortress, this is it. Jaigarh means `Victory Fort' and was built between the 15th and the 18th century, and stands 15 km from Jaipur, amidst rock-strewn, thorn-scrub covered hills, its forbidding stone ramparts are visible from the Jaipur town. A steep road goes up to the main gate, the Dungar Darwaza, from where the view is stupendous. Nahargarh Fort is located on the sheer rugged ridge of Aravali Hills and it forms an impressive northern backdrop of Jaipur. It looks most classy when floodlit at night. The fort overlooks the city and presents a glittering view of the city lights. It was built in 1734 and extended in 1868. Nahargarh meaning abode of the tigers was built by Jai Singh to bolster the defence of Amber. Complete the rest of Jaipur sightseeing. Return to hotel for overnight stay.
