Children in Sports
• Sports at a young age teach children a lot of things and benefit them in the long run.
• I'm going to discuss the benefits and things that children will learn from participating in sports.
Relevance
• This information is going to be relevant for really anyone who is a parent, plans to be a parents, or is close with a child in their life.
• I think everyone can take something out of these facts and information.
Benefits from sports
• Social Skills – Children in sports have to learn to cooperate with other children, which teaches them to get along and work together.
• Free Time – Children can potentially have a lot of free time on their hands and organized sports are a positive way to keep them out of trouble and take up their time.
• These are just a few of many benefits to children.
The Facts• Sports are great for children's physical
activity. • They benefit them in maintaining healthy
bones, joints and muscles. • This picture shows the benefits of how kids
do in life who are active.
Facts
• The previous picture showed that active children are 1/10 likely to be obese, receive up to 40% higher test scores, less smoking, 15% more likely to go to college, 7-8% higher annual earnings, etc.
• All these long term benefits come from simply being active as a child. I think anyone should want their kid to be active and participate in sports.
Personal experience• As a child I explored many different sports and
fell in love with football. I looked up to many of the older high school football players and wanted to be just like them. I spent countless hours working to achieve my goals to be good at something that I loved. This taught me if you want something bad enough you have to work for it. I worked and eventually received a full scholarship to continue this sport. I have never felt a better accomplishment in my life and this all came from starting sports at a young age. It taught me life lessons I will keep forever.
Let kids find their passion
• With the great benefits and experiences I have received from youth sports I ask to give your children the same great experience that I think every human deserves. Let them find their passion and learn the many life skills that sports will teach you.
