APPIN PARK ROTARY CLUB HAVE GAINED A
CONTRACT WITH MICROSOFT AS A
Major Partner
Provide Free software namely:-
• Windows 7
• Office 20010
• Microsoft Technology Assist Program
AIMS OF PROGRAM 1 To Refurbish donated computers with
original software and Distribute them to Needy Families who otherwise would not have a computer at home
2 To prevent useful computers from adding to our landfill problems
Local Partners • The Centre for Adult and Community
Education Wangaratta
• Bendigo Bank Wangaratta Branch
• Local partners assist with training, ,local networks of businesses, staff assist where possible
Local Business Sponsors • Alpine MDF • St Johns Retirement Village • Benalla Secondary College
• Sponsors regularly provide “trade in”
computers to Appin Park Rotary for distribution to needy families
Training • Computer staff from The Community
and Adult Education Centre Wangaratta trained 8 Rotarians in how to install new software on computers
Clients • Needy clients are identified by our
partners institutions in Wangaratta they are so far:-
• Yarrunga PS (Deputy principal) • Galen College (PWC) • The Centre (Program Coordinator) • Evolve at Typo Station (Program
Coordinators)

FUTURE DIRECTIONS? • Need to expand program in Wangaratta
especially our Business Sponsors • Possible program for Rotarians using
Microsofts “Technology Assist Program” • Develop new refurbisher training model
with long term unemployed, grade 6 students and Secondary Colleges--- with students trained as the refurbishers of their own donated computers
FUTURE DIRECTIONS • Partnership with local Rotary Clubs under our
existing contract with Microsoft ??? Enquiries so far from Kyabram RC, Holbrook RC ,Heidelberg RC and Shepparton Central RC
• Kyabram RC have refurbished 20 Computers • Could provide some computers to needy families
on a regional basis eg bushfire victims
