Basic Rugby Terms• Try

• when the ball is physically touched down past the opponent’s goal line (worth 5 pts.)

• Forwards• group of players numbered 1 through 8• responsible for getting the ball to backs. • bind together to form scrums and lineouts.

• Backs• group of players numbered 9 to 15• do not take part in scrums and lineouts• job is to advance the ball.
