PURPOSE OF THE RFB
As part of RAF e-Enablement strategy, deployment of an Enterprise Wireless (Wi-Fi) solution has been identified as one of the key initiatives in the Technology Workstream within the Infrastructure Development and Business Continuity Department.
Currently there is limited Wi-Fi connectivity technology deployed at RAF offices which uses Wi-Fi Access Points mainly within the executive boardrooms, executive suite and ICT department. The current Wi-Fi Access Points are five years old and will need to be replaced with the latest Enterprise Wi-Fi Solution.

Current RAF Network infrastructure:
The RAF Head office and regional offices are currently connected to a centralized data centre in Midrand (Production) via Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) Network. The RAF ICT Disaster Recovery (DR) site is located in Rosslyn. The core switches at the Midrand Data centre is HP Procurve switches and Rosslyn is Extreme Network switches. All the RAF offices as per the table above use Extreme Network switches. Network segregation and security is achieved by Cisco ASA appliances and Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) based at the Midrand Data centre and Rosslyn DR locations.
The current Network Management tool is Netsight (standard) and the proposed solution should integrate with Netsight (standard) and the current switch environment as indicated above

EVALUATION CRITERIA
The evaluation criteria will be based on the following requirements:
Mandatory (Comply or Not Comply) bidders who do not meet the mandatory requirements will be disqualified. Technical Functional Requirement (100 points). Threshold to proceed to price and B-BBEE is 70 points. Price and B-BBEE Evaluations (90/10 points). Bidders who score less than 70 out of 100 on functional / technical
criteria will not be further evaluated on Price and BEE.

1.Bidder (s) must be a approved Vendor Accreditation/ Partner•Please provide copy of a valid certified certificate/ or letter verifying statement above.2. The Wi-Fi product and solution must be certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance•Please provide proof of certification (printout from the Wi-Fi Alliance website).3. The bidder must provide warranty, support and maintenance for Enterprise Wireless Solution (Wi-Fi) nationally for a minimum period of three (3) years with an option to extend for a further two (2) years.

Site visit survey
Site visit survey will be conducted between 19 - 29 January 2016. Booking of slots can be requested only to this email:
