PROJECT Kaitlyn HullPortfolio Compilation
Kaitlyn HullThis collection of Portfolios was created to show my different talents gained while a student at the University of Rhode Island.
In this I will show four different strengths, I gained throughout the four years as a Fashion student.
I learned many of these skills while taking marketing courses, forecasting classes, history of textiles. I also focused on finding inspiration on my own.
Finding a great deal of my inspiration stemming from my study abroad in Europe.
Being an Italian minor also incorporated itself into my fashion major.
The first portfolio is a forecast for Resort Wear Spring 2011
Named CapricciosoAn Italian word meaning whimsical which is the aim of this forecast as well as the style
and feeling of Resort wear collections
A “A “SeasonlessSeasonless” ” CollectionCollection
“Now it’s trickier. Like most fashion today, it has to be in a sense almost seasonless.” -Oscar de la Renta
Today resort wear is aimed at every fashion-
conscious consumer. Modern resort collections are the widest ranging of any other collection. The versatile looks include
traditional warm-weather, suits, holiday cocktail attire, knitwear, and
denim. The only thing the collections don't include are new trends or fads.

This portfolio is a more specific forecast. After researching the Target Corp.
I developed this forecast for their swimwear line
Juniors of Summer 2011
The collection is titled Back to the Future
Target Customer
“Our mission is to make Target the preferred shopping destination for our guests by delivering outstanding value, continuous innovation and an exceptional guest experience by consistently fulfilling our Expect More. Pay Less.® brand promise.”
Target is a mass consumer that aims to please. With designer collections as well as everyday.
This forecast is aimed at women aged 15-late 20’s. We will maintain focus on bikini’s and cut outs, as well as swimwear accessories.
Current Styles
The 2010 swimwear season has a current focus on neon colors, bright hues and prints.
Moving towards 2011 I see more natural tones, and earthly influences.
Inspiration
floral
light colors
Florals have a great look, they can be vibrant or
subdued. They add texture and a sense of romanticism.
Taking colors from the rich brown glossy color of the rocks
The light translucent white of the clouds
The hint of blue in the sky
The many different transitioning blues of the ocean.
Upcoming Trend Styles
Back to the future.
The fashion industry has turned the clock back when it comes to silhouettes and design. This features high cut swim wear and old fashioned bra top.
Accessories
Floppy hats
Tortoise shell sunglasses
Large frame and very round.
Minimal Jewelry
Inference of Hippy Chic
Target the FutureSwimwear changes with every year.
2011 will be a year of florals, light earthy tones with a pop of color.
Their influence coming from nature, Target will have a little something for everyone.
This next portfolio was created to show inspiration from different parts of the world. This showcases creativity within the fashion industry. Some of my own pictures, and also
including pictures I found from designer collections and blogs. This slideshow exhibits the influence of history and the trickle down
theory.
The collection is titled Back to the Future
Cultures influence the way people dress across the globe. Inserting different cultural styles into your wardrobe can create an interesting story.
Around the World
The Military invades NYCBalmain Spring ’09 vs Civil War General
Western Tales from Colorado to LAFriends

Amish Life in NYCOn the street vs. Robert Gellar Fall 2009

Cultures from all around the world are associated with fashion and our
individual styles. The smallest inference is possible and influential.
This final portfolio is a Marketing Brief created for the integration of American Apparel into the French economy and
culture.
This was created after much detailed and extensive research on American Apparel,
and the French culture and economy.
American Apparel
American Apparel is an American company
In this marketing report we have specific suggestions for the company to enable them to thrive in the French economy.
This powerpoint will show the outfits chosen to thrive in French culture and why.

This outfit would ‘suit’ the French fashion perfectly. The skinny tie is back in fashion as of this fall and the interesting color with the shorter version of
pants would easily be found walking down a Parisian street. The shorter suit pants paired with a great pair of shoes without socks creates a carefree but
still put together look. This could be a versatile business or leisure look.
This unisex button up is paired with a black twill skirt, embellished tights and a pair of black heels. This outfit has a good color scheme that suits a French fall well. This look is casual, but sophisticated and fashionable. It
would work well in the office or a night out. This outfit was chosen because of its versatility and color scheme being suitable for the French culture, and
day to day life.
This is a great outfit you could find on the streets of Paris any day of the week. Whether worn out on a day trip to the country or walking around the Parisian markets it is casual and chic. A plain black sweater worn with white
khakis and a beautiful pair of brown loafers. Finishing off the look with a neutral eternity scarf, add a bit of fashion and really pulls the look together. This is perfect for a man within the French culture because of the minimal
effort, casual, yet fashionable simplicity.
The effortless working girl. This outfit is perfect for the professional French woman. The navy color is dark and paired with an old fashioned pair of
tights in a lighter shade featured by a pair of nude pumps. This wrap dress is professional, fashionable and beautiful. The opposing colored shoes and
the interesting tights make the usually drab outfit interesting, sexy, and still allows it to keep the professionalism needed for the office.
