Peter Brötzmann curated three days of great music by wonderful musicians from all over the world! Not a retro-
spective but a representation of the contemporary musical spheres that Brötzmann and his comrades are investi-
gating today. This box documents in 18 performances Brötzmann‘s close ties to the Chicago scene, his inclination
to work with Japanese artists, his cultivation of old and new friendships from New York, his faible for African musi-
cians and collaborations with his European friends. The extensive compilation emphasizes the vitality and variety of
Brötzmann's current work and documents a historical moment of the Unlimited-Festival.

SECTION 1 – 19 | Total Time: 68:34 | Recorded at JazzFest Berlin '94 in November 1994 Release Date: 1996 October 15
A superb large-scale composition for Oxley's Celebration Orchestra, performed at the 1994 JazzFest Berlin, it consists of 19 interrelated parts or sections. The ensemble is very percussion-heavy, though
Oxley doubles as drummer and conductor. Some of the material is atonal or pantonal but, as ever, Oxley gives a strong impression of pulse and swing. (source: The Penguin Guide to Jazz on CD - Eighth Edition)

1995 – 01 Helmut Zapf "Wandlungen II" für Posaune und Tonband 1986
BF 002292
