Purpose of this information pack The purpose of this information pack is to give a ‘crash course’ so to say, on what LANdu is about and our upcoming
August event. It will highlight which tournaments are being held, the prizes, and a brief overview of our current
sponsors. It should be noted that things at this stage may be subject to some slight changes, including the possibility
of some additional games.

About LANdu LANdu, or LAN Down Under, is a not for profit community computer gaming / e-sports event founded in Melbourne.
It supports people of all ages, promoting face to face interaction and socialising for like-minded people by bringing
them from the isolation of their homes to share and compete in one of their favourite pastimes.
Our Mission - To deliver a fun and collaborative, face to face environment for computer gaming and E-Sports
enthusiasts and the supporting communities to come together.
The group consists of individuals with experience in large scale LAN hosting, marketing, gaming, streaming,

LANdu Team Meet our LANdu heads. It wouldn’t be fair to say that the following list represents the only people putting their hard
work into LANdu events. There are many people working hard behind the scenes and offering their support, but
these are the key guys and girls making LANdu happen.

Upcoming Events LANdu has a number of events planned for July and August 2019, ranging from smaller events showcasing specific
titles and console games with a couch co-op feel (typically run through our Melbourne Gamers United community),
to a large scale LAN party with a gaming convention vibe for the semi- pro and super casuals. This document focuses
on this large-scale LAN, running 27 hours continuously from 9am Saturday August 24th through to midday August
25th 2019. The event is currently BYOC but we are in the process of securing a BYO keyboard and play option.
The event will be held at the Melbourne Showgrounds in Ascot Vale and seat 500 LAN players. We have sponsor and
vendor booths, with hardware and gaming accessory retailers locked in. There is a classic arcade machine section
sporting Time Crisis II, Dance Dance Revolution and multi-player Mario Kart II. We are also in the process of securing
a VR booth. The venue layout also includes the console area with our partners at Nintense Gaming running our
dedicated Nintendo area and hosting our Smash Bros Tournament, time out area, streamer VIP section and a main
stage winners will be announced and the cosplay competition will be held.

Security: Rest assured that the event has a security patrol to ensure safety and order.
Drop-Offs, Pick-Ups and Parking: Scheduling of drop-offs and pick-ups for computer load in/out will be
determined closer to the event. There is a designated drop off area allowing vehicles right up to the loading doors, along with conveniently adjacent and affordable on-site parking.
Other Info: We currently have a number of well known local streamers and are also proud to be hosting a number
of female gamers. Our event is focused on the general gaming community and we are excited to provide an opportunity for viewer to interact with streamers. It’s also our pleasure to be working alongside the girls and guys from eGirl whose mantra is about understanding it’s not a big deal who plays.
Recap: The event showcases eSports gaming with a focus on providing casual gamers (rather than professionals) the
experience of attending an eSport like convention. There will be stage presentations, booths, game demos, fun
competitions across a variety of platforms and plenty of genuinely great prizes to be won. The proven Show
Grounds venue is almost purpose build for this event, boasting ample facilities, public transport, parking and plenty
of catering options.

Where might you fit into LANdu?
Gamers Whether you’re a casual gamer or into chasing the best semi pro scrims, we’re structing our events with three main
levels in mind. Main Events to get sweaty, Casual Events for some structured play without the pressure, and pickup
and play. This is the event where we play for the game, every game has their own style community style but we’re all
gamers, so come along and put on a show.
Gaming Personalities We are looking for people in the broader gaming community who are able to spread the word about our event. We
are also very interested in creating a designated area for our invited players to attend, feel comfortable, interact and
play with fans and mix with industry professionals and vendors.
Our ticketing system includes the use of custom promotional codes for discounted tickets, which we can extend to
influencers as kudos and a sweetener for their audiences.
Should you wish to also attend the event as a streamer, we could make our VIP stream booths available, which we
are having streamers cycle through.
