“We thank you, Lord, for the joy and pleasure these people have brought to our lives. Grant that they may lead a life that is filled with an abundance of laughter, a limitless measure of love and contentment, and a deep and abiding faith in you. Amen.”

Leif’s Corner Makes me wonder. Recall the three challenges from last week’s readings: 1. A call to radical hospitality. Makes me wonder: in what way I am called to radical hospitality in order for a nearby ‘prophet’ to be God’s voice today. How am I called to give of the essence of myself in such a way that another reveals the face of God? 2. A warning against privilege. Makes me wonder, in what measure am I a Christian in appearance? In what measure an authentic Christian? 3. A call to end hunger and poverty. Makes me wonder: how many hungry people have I encountered in the last week, the last month, but didn’t know it because I’m too focused on my own needs? How much poverty have I failed to see, even though it’s right in front of me? If I acknowledge it, I have to do something about it.

Come and join us for Tai Chi Tuesdays at 11 am in the Gym and Wednesdays at 7 pm in Rm 14 starting on November 14. Everyone is welcome, no experience necessary.

Please be generous in this week’s collection for the Cath-olic Campaign for Human Development. In the United States, one in seven people lives in poverty. With this collection you support programs that address the causes of poverty and provide a sustainable future for those who are struggling across the country. In addition, 25 percent of funds collected remains in our diocese to fund local anti-poverty projects. Please prayerfully con-sider how you can support this collection and work on the margins. More information about the Catholic Campaign for Human Development can be found at www.usccb.org/cchd/collection.
