ABOUT USSt. James Parish Hospital opened its doors as a community hospital in 1955. We are a 25-bed Critical Access facility that serves the River Region through an extensive range of inpatient, outpatient and emergency services.

We also own a beautiful medical plaza housing primary care clinics, specialty clinics, a surgery clinic, urology clinic, urgent care and a state-of-the-art community education room. We employ a diverse team of over 200 highly experienced employees from throughout Southeast Louisiana. In addition to traditional Acute Care, we provide Skilled Rehab/Swing Bed Services and a Step-Down Unit for patients requiring additional care to meet their goals for discharge. We welcome referrals.

Our ER offers shorter wait times and the personalized care and compassion small hospitals can provide in combination with the skill and training you can expect to find in larger hospitals. Our ER nurses and physicians are trained in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Trauma Care.

Our Urgent Care is currently open from 5 PM-10 PM Monday through Friday and from 9 AM-7 PM on Saturday. Patients can conveniently walk-in, see a licensed practitioner and have access to on-the-spot testing and treatment for urgent, non-life threatening medical issues.
