Music is used during the documentary sometimes to set the tone and sometimes more upbeat modern music which maybe shows the young age of the homeless people.
Mise-en-scene
The person interviewing is dressed very casual
The set where the interviews are often taken are often very casual and realistic e.g. homeless person walking down the road
Differences between the two documentaries
Trevor McDonald's interviews were a lot more tense as he looked on edge with the dangerous people he is interviewing where on the other hand the person interviewing the homeless people was more relaxed when talking to them as he was once a former homeless person himself.
Trevor McDonald's interviews are a lot more formal compared to the BBC interview as he has straight up face to face interviews with the people in the mafia. But the homeless documentary will show the homeless person busy showing a less formal tone to the interview.
The Homeless documentary is also less formal as it is done by hand held camera giving a impression of realness to the viewers when the mafia documentary can come across as staged etc.
The way Trevor presents himself gives his documentary a professional look through his clothing body language and questions where as the documentary on homeless people is a lot more casual in the way the are dressed and how the questions are asked to the people in question.
Music is used frequently during the homeless documentary giving it a less serious look compared to trevor mcdonalds that focuses on the dangerous people themselves mostly and facts although both situations being documented are serious.
