about the FOUNDERMr. Yousif Bin Saeed Al Lootah is currently the Executive Director of S.S. Lootah Group and CEO of Lootah Biofuels. A young and energetic CEO, Mr. Yousif Lootah overlooks the strategic direction, expansion and daily operations of Lootah Biofuels in the UAE and internationally.

Mr. Yousif Lootah introduced Lootah Biofuels with an aim to introduce and innovate sustainable solutions for the long-term energy requirements of the UAE and beyond. Mr. Yousif has been the brain to many sustainable initiatives by the company. After the successful production of Biofuels from managing waste, recently, Mr. Lootah has gone one step ahead and signed up with educational institutions to create awareness and training for the young people of the region, thus, inspiring them to adopt small but significant changes to their daily lifestyle and make a difference.

Prior to introducing Lootah Biofuels, Mr. Yousif was actively involved in the sustainable initiatives by the S.S. Lootah Group such as the Green Car Program which has seen a great progression since its inception, starting from conversion of part of company fleet to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), followed by the use of Hybrid, Electric, Biodiesel and Solar vehicles in recent years. Mr. Yousif Lootah is operating with a goal to convert at least 5% of transportation fuel to Biofuels by the year 2020.

MISSIONOur mission is to deliver economic, operational, and environmental benefits for long-term customer satisfaction and sustainable growth.

We aim to research, develop and produce sustainable biofuels – clean, reliable alternatives to fossil fuels for transport that deliver real reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and help to improve security of energy supply.

In the UAE, transport sector consumption contributes to around 90% of the total diesel demand in the country. The demand in the sector is expected to rise due to the proliferation in cargo trade, remarkable rise in the tourism industry the phenomenon upshot of logistic hub for Middle East and Africa. Thus, the Lootah BioFuels objective is to meet the UAE’s demand of cost effective and sustainable fuel.

RTA Bio Powered Green BusSupported by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the Green Bus

project is a collaborative effort between the RTA and SS Lootah Biofuels, one of the fiercest proponents of bio-fuels in the UAE. The initiative, the first of its kind in the region falls under a wider picture the UAE Vision 2021 of Green Economy for Sustainable Development. Expanding the green profile of Dubai’s public transport, RTA has launched the first green bus in

2012 as a pilot project and after a successful trial has now expanded the fleet.

DUBAI’S POLICE FORCE WILL FUEL BUSES WITH ITS OWN USED COOKING OIL USING TECHNOLOGY

DEVELOPED BY LOOTAH BIODIESEL.

To coincide with World Environment Day celebration earlier this week, Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, commander general of Dubai Police, has revealed that the police's environ-mentally friendly initiative will fuel its buses with biodiesel produced from used cooking oil.

Tamim said Lootah Biofuels had been instrumental in launching the initiative. Lootah has recently launched its own recycling used oil scheme which has been used to fuel its fleet of readymix cement trucks. It also teamed up with food producer AL Islami to source the cooking oil used as a feedstock in the fuel.

Tamim said the used cooking oil required for producing biodies-el will be collected from within the organisations of the Dubai Police, and the best international standards will be observed for the recycling and the production.

Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, deputy ruler of Dubai, recognised SS Lootah's heavy vehicle scheme at the third Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport (DAST) in February.

Dubai, UAE, 19 August, 2014 - Lootah biofuels, a fully owned subsidiary of SS Lootah group and Emirates Transguard, a leading security service provider will collaborate on a new initiative to support a sustainable fuel produced from used cooking oil for the latter’s vehicles in the UAE.

The agreement was signed by Mr.Yousif Bin Saeed Al Lootah, CEO, Lootah biofuels and Mr. Alexander de Oliveira, Chief Support Officer - Support Services, Emirates Transguard. As per the agreement Lootah biofuels will provide its high rich content biodiesel B5 to meet the fuel requirement of Transguard’s large fleet of vehicles in the UAE.

The agreement aims at taking up the initiative for greener fuel option as well as reduction of UCO waste, thereby creating value for the green economy and enviorment.

A Green Bus uses bio-diesel B5 produced from recycled waste cooking oil to reduce emissions of pollutants and its internal lightening is powered by solar energy.

The initiative, the first of its kind in the region falls under a wider picture the UAE Vision 2021 of Green Economy for Sustainable Development as envisioned by the Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of aSheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

It was launched in cooperation with SS Lootah Group and in coordination with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), according to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of RTA’s Strategy and Corporate Governance Sector, Abdul Mohsen Ibrahim Younes.

United Arab Emirates, August 6, 2013 - TNT Express, the leading global Express Company, has started trials of Biofuel for its UAE fleet with the help of Lootah Biofuels, a fully owned subsidiary of S.S. Lootah Group.

TNT Express UAE has partnered with Lootah Biofuels to supply locally produced environmentally

superior and performance enhancing biodiesel made from used cooking oil for the latter’s commercial vehicles in Dubai.

It is expected that this initiative by TNT Express UAE & Lootah Biofuels would reduce carbon emissions by approximately 32 tons per year.

“We are incredibly proud of this initiative, it joins other regional initiatives such as our recent CNG vehicle fleet in Pakistan in our continued efforts to reduce carbon emissions company,” says Bryan Moulds, Managing Director Middle East and sub continent associates.

Commenting on this agreement, Mr. Yousif Bin Saeed Al Lootah, CEO, Lootah Biofuels said “Keeping in line with the UAE’s vision, the project is a significant step towards sustainable development and the Expo 2020 bid for sustainability.
