COMPANY OVERVIEW

Proteus Switchgear is a UK based manufacturing company under a single family ownership for over 30 years. Specialising in consumer units and circuit protection products we supply the trade and specification markets via 800 distributors worldwide. A company-wide quality assurance system to ISO 9001:2015 is in operation to ensure the highest standards throughout our processes.

We offer a comprehensive range of consumer units and short circuit protective devices for the domestic market that have many features to aid the installer. Our consumer units come with either a removable blank for the SPD or factory fitted into the board. Whilst the unique bus bar system provides quick and easy installation of devices. In addition, our extensive range of compact RCBO devices now feature a 45 A rated device.

benefits have been developed following research carried out by leading industry bodies.

Ultilising our UK based manufacturing facility we can offer bespoke solutions tailored to your individual requirements.

IN HOUSE DESIGN FACILITIES

Our central based design team in the UK has over 20 years experience, utilising the latest in 3D computer aided design software to achieve innovative & patented products.

The Proteus design department has invested in 3D printing technology. This is now used to trial new designs to ensure they meet the standards required. Once a computer aided design is created, models can be produced within hours.

Our range of RCD and RCBO devices undergo 100% electronic testing to ensure each device trips within the required time parameters.Each device is given a unique code following testing for complete traceability.

As part of our UK testing facility, thermal testing of miniature circuit breakers and RCBO devices ensure our products meet the performance requirements of BS EN 60898. All tooling of its manufactured products are fully owned by the company.

As a company policy to ensure customer confidence Proteus products undergo third party certification and all active devices are 100% tested prior to shipping. Furthermore our manufacturing processes have been awarded ISO9001:2015 Quality System by the British Standards Institute for its design, manufacture and supply of LV Switchgear.

This quality assurance enables the Proteus range to be supported by a 10 year full product guarantee. Appropriate products are CE marked and full technical and specification data is available upon request.

Our range of Consumer Unit has been designed in conjunction with contractors and housing authorities specifically to meet the requirements of Regulation 421.1.201 of BS7671:2008 incorporating Amendment 3:2015. With its linear design and matte white (RAL9010) finish, the consumer unit offers the home owner a discreet and contemporary product, whilst providing suitable protection.Regulation 421.1.201 calls for switchgear assemblies, including consumer units, to be housed in a non-combustible enclosure, incorporating the base, cover, door and any accessories. Our range meets these requirements and offers additional features providing a more versatile product.

MCBS RCDSRCBOS

Offering short circuit and overload protection, the our range of 6kA miniature circuit breakers are available in B and C curve, ranging from 6 A to 63 A.

Type A RCDs are available. Providing earth leakage detection, these devices are 100% electronically tested to ensure maximum safety within the home.

Offering short circuit, overload and earth leakage protection, RCBO devices ensure the maximum safety for electrical circuits and property tenants. Compact & standard height RCBOs available.
