in animal feed.

Ethanol Europe Renewables Ltd.Ethanol Europe Renewables Ltd (EERL), a European bioethanol group based in Ireland, is an innovative renewable energy company pioneering biorefinery concepts in Europe.

Mission

Their mission is to advance the bioeconomy in ways that benefit the global climate and rural communities at the same time.

They are dedicated to supplying verified sustainable bio-products into European markets. The energy and material products that they sell displace oil-derived fuels and plastics.

The nutrition products that they bring to market displace feed that is GMO, laced with antibiotics or otherwise poses risks to the human food chain.

Vision

Ethanol Europe hopes that by 2020, Europe:

• displaces close to 10% of its transport sector energy with sustainable biofuels, made from feedstock originating from European farms;

• begins the process of replacing fossil plastics and chemicals with bio-based alternatives, made from value chains that start and end in Europe; and

• starts to facilitate incentives for European farmers to invest in sustainable intensification of their farms and rural communities in order to reverse the rural decline that has typified much of the European landscape over the past two decades.

Pannonia Ethanol ProductsRenewable Ethanol

Ethanol is a clean-burning, high-octane motor fuel that is produced from renewable sources. European produced bioethanol is a socially and environmentally friendly way to reduce the amount of oil that Europe burns. Pannonia Ethanol exceeds the minimum GHG reduction threshold for biofuels set out in the EU Renewable Energy Directive. Pannonia Ethanol produces equal quantities of ethanol and high protein animal feed. Pannonia Ethanol’s Dunaföldvár plant purchases roughly 1,000,000 tons of corn annually, producing up to 450 million litres of renewable ethanol . Pannonia Ethanol’s technology turns corn starch into ethanol. Ethanol feedstock is an entirely sustainable biomass. During ethanol production no waste or sewage is generated. The ethanol industry aims to displace high carbon oil with low carbon renewable liquid fuel in engine combustion.

Animal Feed

Pannonia Gold is produced at a single source, Pannonia Ethanol factory at Dunaföldvár, Hungary. It is a superior feed ingredient produced from Hungarian maize.

For every ton of ethanol produced by Pannonia, one ton of Pannonia Gold DDGS is also produced. This GMO free, antibiotic

free high protein feed is essential for reducing Europe’s chronic protein deficit.

Biomass feedstock for Pannonia is produced locally and enables farmers to have a direct relationship with the end user of their product. Pannonia Ethanol offers farmers a ready local market for their produce, adds substantial value to the materials at a local level, supports thousands of jobs and contributes to global food security by producing high protein, GMO free and antibiotic free animal feed to reduce Europe's current heavy dependence on imports from South America.

Pannonia Ethanol SustainabilityPannonia Ethanol contributes to environmental sustainability with high levels of process efficiency in renewable ethanol refining, eliminates waste and optimizes the output of food, feed and energy, thus creating a virtuous economic and environmental circle that benefits the climate.

THE ACTIVITIES OF PANNONIA ETHANOL CONTRIBUTE TO:

• reducing the greenhouse gas emissions of transport, thus mitigating the danger of climate change

• maintaining and creating jobs, revitalizing rural communities, and helping farm families

• achieving the renewable energy targets of the European Union and Hungary

Environment Pannonia Ethanol produces some of the most environmentally friendly ethanol in Europe. The company achieves 65% reduction in greenhouse gas, compared to fossil fuels, well beyond the threshold set out in the Renewable Energy Directive of the EU for biofuels.

Currently, bioethanol is the only economic alternative to petrol. Bioethanol is produced entirely from sustainable biomass.

Local Development Almost all of the feed corn processed by Pannonia Ethanol comes from Hungarian family farms. The company’s business model ensures that renewable ethanol production is integrated with local agricultural communities. Pannonia Ethanol plays an important part in realizing Hungary’s potential in agriculture and in creating and sustaining new jobs, thus contributing to growth and competitiveness.

The Energy Future Both Pannonia and its parent company, Ethanol Europe, strongly believe in responsible European bioethanol production and have a long term commitment to the CEE region.

Pannonia Ethanol’s efforts in biotechnology and biochemistry contribute to the spread of advanced biofuels in the region and elsewhere in Europe. The innovation and development of new technologies can also generate highly skilled green jobs and economic growth.

Area Information Dunaföldvár, Tolna County and BudapestTolna, south-central Hungary. It lies in the southern part of Transdanubia and borders the counties of Fejér to the north, Bács-Kiskun to the east, Baranya to the south, and Somogy to the west. Szekszárd has been the county seat since 1779.

The landscape is flat in the eastern territories occupied by the Mezoföld (a loess tableland) and the riverine lowlands that meet the Danube River on the county’s eastern border. It rises gently in the west, in the Kapos-Koppány hills and the Tolna highlands, and in the southern outliers of the Mecsek Mountains. Its rivers—the Kapos, Koppány, Sárvíz, Lajvér, and Donáét—flow into the Danube via the Sió River.

The county is rich in fertile soils. Its economy is agriculture-based: grains, sunflowers, and fodder plants are the major crops. Cattle and pigs are raised. Viticulture in the Szekszárd area has been a tradition for nearly 2,000 years.

Dunaföldvár Dunaföldvár is a town situated in the northern part of Tolna County, Hungary, along the right bank of the Danube River. The city has 9,272 inhabitants with the first bridge over the Danube, 48 miles south of Budapest.

Budapest Budapest is the capital and the largest city of Hungary, and one of the largest cities in the European Union. It is the country's principal political, cultural, commercial, industrial, and transportation centre, sometimes described as the primate city of Hungary.

Its two sides, Buda and Pest, were separate cities until 1873, and they retain their own distinct identities, the former run through with ancient history, the latter noisier, earthier and more cosmopolitan. In Buda you’ll find royal palaces, Ottoman-era spas and wooded hills, while over in Pest you can pore over a clutch of fine museums, fantastic art nouveau buildings and a resurgent Jewish quarter.

Budapest is packed with museums and galleries, and there are plenty of temporary exhibitions in the most unlikely of settings, particularly in summer. The city glories in 223 museums and galleries, which presents several memories, not only the Hungarian historical, art and science ones, but also the memories of universal and European culture and science. In Budapest there are currently 837 different monuments, which represent the most of the European artistic style. The classical and unique Hungarian Art Nouveau buildings are prominent.

Area Information

Budapest’s reputation as a spa city is well-deserved, its many thermal-spring-fed baths playing an essential part in the locals’ social life since Roman times. Some baths, such as Gellért and Széchenyi, combine magnificent 19th century settings and steam rooms with a proliferation of indoor and outdoor pools, the latter being particularly appealing in springtime. The layout of most of Budapest’s baths is similar: a series of indoor thermal pools, where temperatures range from warm to hot, with steam rooms, saunas, ice-cold plunge pool and rooms for massage. Some have outdoor pools with fountains, sprays and whirlpools. Being thermal, some are open year-round.

Budapest restaurants reflect diversity, with menus carrying traditional regional cuisine, fusions of various culinary influences, or innovating in the leading edge of new techniques. Budapest's food shops also have a solid reputation for supplying quality specialised culinary products and supplies, reputations that are often built up over generations. These include many shops, such as Café Gerbeaud, one of the greatest and most traditional coffeehouses in Europe, or the Gundel restaurant and gastro shop in the City Park.

Budapest is home to over 35 higher education institutions, of which a large number are universities. Under the Bologna Process, many offered qualifications are recognized in countries across Europe. Medicine, dentistry, pharmaceuticals, veterinary programs, and engineering are among the most popular fields for foreigners to undertake in Budapest. Most universities in Budapest offer courses in English, as well as in other languages like German, French, and Dutch, aimed specifically at foreigners. Many students from other European countries spend one or two semesters in Budapest through the Erasmus Programme.

Area Information Weekend Destinations near BudapestBudapest, Hungary is central to all the great iconic locations in Europe.

Venice , Italy (3 hrs from Budapest by air)Venice is enchanting. Yes, that may be cliché to say, but once you see the city on the water for yourself, you'll surely agree. Step off of the Santa Lucia train station and the breathtaking Grand Canal will soon greet you. You'll see water taxis coast along, passing underneath the Ponte degli Scalzi (Bridge of the Barefoot) and might hear the faintest hint of a serenading violin, or is that your imagination? It might not be all in your head. Romantic gondolas carrying smitten couples glide through the web of the city's many waterways, and gondola drivers are known to sing when the moment feels right. On land, narrow passageways twist past Old World storefronts and residences, and over bridges. You should note that maps aren't all that helpful here and getting lost is the norm — embrace the disorientation.

Athens, Greece (2 hrs from Budapest by air)Few cities rival Athens when it comes to historical importance. As the sun rises over the smooth marble monuments of the Acropolis and fills the cobblestone streets along its base, the people of Athens emerge from their homes and head to local markets or sidewalk games of chess. Life moves more slowly, as if the entire city is reveling in blissful retirement from its glory days as a political and cultural powerhouse. But as the sun sets, Athens' contradictions come to light: The air thickens with the aroma of spiced lamb and music from a nearby taverna, dance clubs blast rock music amidst ancient columns, and the bright lights of Omonia Square mirror the glistening columns of the Parthenon, illuminated for all to see.

Vienna, Austria (3 hrs from Budapest by car)History is at the heart of Vienna both literally and figuratively. The narrow streets of the Innere Stadt (Inner City) snake through antiquated buildings, providing an atmosphere so authentic that you almost expect a Vienna native like composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart or psychologist Sigmund Freud to round a cobblestone corner and greet you with "guten tag." Extravagant baroque palaces from the Habsburg Monarchy loom over the city, just as Mozart's classical arias pour from contemporary cafes. If it's culture you seek, you'll find it here.

Beautiful Vienna is full of historic churches, insightful museums and colorful markets.
