a Story OF deVelOPment and GrOWtH1990 the purification systems construction and management activity is unbundled from Bautechnik, thus ladurner srl is created, the company which gives birth to the whole environmental division of the group ladurner.
1997 ecoproject (currently ladurner ambiente Spa) was started for activities management and coordination and financial projects and concessions development
1998 the first composting plant in italy was purchased and transformed with innovative technology.
1999 ecoprogetto Venezia Spa, the public-private partnership with the municipality of Venice for the Venetian environmental plants management is formed and the management of waste-to-energy plant of Venice gets started.
2000 idecom was born, forerunner of the environment systems planning concerning waste issues.
2001 the integrated facility of fusina is set, one of the most innovative and virtuous works for the waste treatment and waste-to-energy process in Italy, a flagship for ladurner.
2004 ladurner Bonifiche was born, with the aim of enhancing the experience acquired by ladurner services division in the field of reclamations, characterizations and laboratory analysis
2006 enerfarm is formed and the agro-energy sector is developed through the anaerobic digestion from agricultural biomasses.
2007 ladurner acque is formed for the purpose of enhancing larduner know-how in the historical sector of the effluent waters treatment, intensifying the search for innovative and state-of-the-art solutions
2009 renerwaste is formed and develops in the field of Waste-to-energy through the anaerobic digestion from waste and through the composting plants revamping.
2010rem-teC was established to operate a facility to treat hazardous- and non-hazardous waste.
2012 ladurner energy was set up as a company specialized in providing services to improve energy efficiency.
2013 ladurner Solarwas established as a company specialized in the design, installation and operation of photovoltaic plants.

the miSSioninnovative technoLoGY ideas and soLUtions for the environment
ladurner has always been researching and developing technological ideas and solutions applied to the environment issue, both in the management and prevention of possible pollution (solid waste treatment and concerned planning) and in the solution of already acknowledged pollution (effluent waters and polluted lands treatments). From the pollution prevention and solution “passive” activity, the mission of the company soon converted to an “active” approach. the company was among the first ones in Italy to transform waste into a resource: not only with residual waste with higher heat value for waste-to-energy process, but also with high organic content waste for rdf (refuse derived fuel) production, biogas production and wet-oxydation for renewable energies generation.an on-going research of innovative and virtuous technology that led ladurner to be today one of the main operators in the field of waste and effluent waters problems solution in Italy.

research and deveLopment
ladurner research and development activity on the products and services it supplies has al-ways been reliable, intense and articulate, as it suits to a group whose main distinctive ele-ments are technological innovation and vanguard solutions.international collaborations and partnerships ensure ladurner the on-going market and sector monitoring in all its activity areas: from waste-to-energy to waters treatment, from reclamations to environmental services. In fact it can count on a first-rate position being on the side of international partners whereby it acquires know how and technical and scientific expertise. accordingly ladurner is engaged in the collaboration with technical/ scientific bodies that are linked to single specific supply chains: for example CiC (composting and biogas), Cti (Italian thermotechnical Committee, for the rdF and the waste-to-energy process); en-uni (european norms), federambiente, etc. Further key factors in ladurner’s research and development activity are: the participation in eu and domestic projects and in research agreements with high scientific and technological value universities, internships programs for recent graduate and undergraduates for thesis on the processes, development and application of the B.a.t. (Best available Practices) to the italian context, along with a first-rate designers team. not least is the “scouting” and monitoring and surveying activity on the needs that ladurner technical commercial sector carries on with the support and scientific and methodological know-how of Idecom.

Water treated by our machines over 10,000,000 m3
year
LadUrner on Water
the water element, even before than waste, meant for ladurner the problem to which an answer should be given, since the early 90’s, through the planning and the fabrication of purifiers and the provision of machines for the treatment of waters both civil and industrial. thus it contributed in a decisive way to the development of technological solution in the field of effluent waters purification.even more ambitious goals took shape from those important experiences. these goals are till today confirmed by ladurner company policy: to search for the best environment technologies specific for the effluent waters treatment to be introduced and distributed, so as to consolidate the position of recognized specialist in the field of effluent water treatment in italy.ladurner acque offers the market solutions for the effluent water purification capable of creating exploitation opportunities of what was up to now considered a problem. In fact it particularly focuses on specialist and high added-value solutions through research and marketing of high-tech machines and processes meeting the worldwide environmental protection policies; the exploitation of energy from sewage, the energy saving in the sewage treatment, the definitive elimination of the residue from purification thus turning into a pay-off what was before a pure cost for the company or the community!

the plant is found in the municipality of albairate (milan) on an area of 40,000 sq.m. within the milan-South agricultural Park. the plant produces biogas for generating electricity and high-quality compost for agriculture as an open-field fertilizer, using a manufacturing processes that can be identified in two main phases: anaerobic and aerobic.
the technology adopted is wet in mesophilia (temp. 37°C).
anaeroBic diGestion
44 44
anaeroBic phaseto allow for anaerobic digestion, the system is equipped with a system of pre-treatment of OFmSW (Organic Fraction of municipal Solid Wastes) that allows extraneous items such as packaging (bags etc.) and aggregates (sands etc.) to be eliminated, and to prepare - with grinding and addition of recirculation water - the crude suspension to send to the digesters for the anaerobic biological phase to generate biogas that is stored in a gasholder to be sent on to the cogeneration engines to produce electricity, which is fed into the grid, net of internal consumption of the entire plant.
the aeroBic phase
after being separated from the water by centrifuges, the material from anaerobic digestion is mixed with structuring material (greenery and twigs) and treated, in a first phase, in the “ladurner” biocells.thanks to the intensive fermentation in bio-cell, with temperature, humidity, oxygen demand and air flow continuously monitored and controlled by computer systems, a material is obtained that is in arranged in piles in maturing bays, where it is periodically turned and humified before final screening to become a finished product (compost or composted fertilizer) for use in open field agriculture.

In 1998, while designing a system for the treatment of household waste dry fraction capable of producing a fuel with a high heat power, the first problem to solve was the use of the rdF produced without altering the tricky environmental balance of Venice.the idea was to optimize the functioning of the plants in the industrial area of Porto marghera, developing an industrial system aiming at the maximum exploitation of the existing thermal cycles.
the advantages of this choice immediately showed up. First of all no further waste-to-energy plants were to be build for the treatment of the rdF produced. then, the quantity of fossil fuels used in the already existing thermal centrals was reduced, the emissions to atmosphere resulting from the combustion processes were reduced as well. moreover it was possible to benefit from the financial contribution provided by the laws in force.

Quality rdf
47
thus the choice was made to install a plant system producing quality rdF, that, by involving enel Produzione, could be used in the Palladio of Fusina thermal power station in a process of co-combustion with carbon. thus in 1998 a Program agreement was signed between the competent territorial bodies (region of Veneto, Province of Venice, municipality of Venice) and the cycles managers (ecoprogetto Venezia and enel) in order to regulate the assignment and energy optimization of the produced rdF. the operating activity was preceded by a rigorous program of productive experimentation (in order to state the optimal percentage of rdF to use in the thermal groups) and environmental experimentation (that was carried out by arPaV) in order to detect the effects of the gaseous emissions in the atmosphere during the combustion phases. at the end of this experimentation process it was proved that:• the quantity of employable rdF was about the 5% of the carbon that fuels the Palladio
central• in the co-combustion process the effects on the emissions from rdF use were negligible.
at present the experimental phase ended and led to the integrated environmental authorization signed by the ministry mrs. Stefania Prestigiacomo on the 25th of november 2008 after the conference of services that took place in rome on the 23rd of September 2008. this authorization, after the control and stabilization phases, allows to exploit 18 tons/h of rdF in the enel plant, considering the limitation on the waters discharge during the summer. We are considering, in collaboration with enel, the possibility of overcoming this limitation potentially reaching an exploitation of more than 100.000 tons/year with a carbon saving of 65.000 tons and a CO2 reduction of 93.000 tons/year.

It aims at joining the experience of ladurner ambiente in the production and management of the biogas plants and the experience of the farm contractors in a specific area. the plants are in fact placed close to catchment areas conveniently identified, in order to guarantee the proximity of raw materials purchasing.
How does Enerfarm work?It identifies farm contractors interested in building biogas production plants for the establishment of local joint-ventures, giving to the farm companies the possibility of entering the renewal energies business along with an industrial partner, i.e. the ladurner group, acting as guarantor for the right technical working of the plant.enerfarm deals with the production and management of the biogas plant, also taking care of the full clearance and authorization process, of the bank financing and of the electrical energy and green certificates selling. these are very complex activities requiring a specific and specialist know how.
How do these joint ventures work?the joint venture is controlled by enerfarm and it is a ltd (Srl) for any enterprise: the partners are enerfarm and the local farm company. It is managed by a board of directors with 2 members where the president is appointed by the farm partner and the chief executive by enerfarm.
