MERCEDES 204 C-ClassENGINE MANAGEMENT Cooling Fan intervention setting

Vehicles of last generation have the cooling fan management through ENGINE ECU, that refers directly to the engine temperature sensor to do it.The cooling fan intervention's point can be changed by choosing a correction factor that will run cooling fan in advance (or in late), relating to the ECU standard program.During the procedure, the correction value in °C will be shown.Example:If the intervention is set at 100°C by default, when 5°C is set by this function, the intervention point will be at 95°C. Once the procedure is running, just press the dedicated keys to increase or decrease the value, then “V” key to store it or “X” to leave the value back to default.

N.B.: Usually the default value is = 0°C.

MERCEDES 204 C-ClassESPSteering Angle Sensor calibration

Through this function the steering angle sensor can be calibrated. It must be performed in case of ECU or Sensor replacement. How to do it:1) Stationary vehicle, on a flat surface2) Engine Idling3) Set steering and wheels aligned to the middle4) Do not touch the steering wheel while procedure running !5) Run the procedureTo check for procedure successfully completed, have a look on the live data and check the item “Relative Steering wheel pos.”, that must indicate ZERO degrees.

MERCEDES 204 C-ClassSERVICE REMINDER Service reset

This function must be performed to set the service reminder back to factory default. In this way the dashboard will show the service reminder indication once the time/distance will expire, by factory’s specs.

This function permits the Dashboard configuration concerning some options, including the Service Reminder modality. The available choices are:Service Reminder Mode:can be set as “Flexible” or “Not Flexible”, and means that the strategy can be based on fixed values in Km or Mi (15000Km/9300Mi or 30000Km/18650Mi, if Not Flexible) or based on driving style (Flexible)OIL Type:can be set as “Standard” or “Long Life”, and indicates which engine oil type must be used when adding or replacing it. Engine Oil Level/Temp sensor:can be set as “present” or “not present”, and indicates if the sensor is installed or not.Engine Oil Level/Temp sensor connected to the Dashboard:can be set as “Yes” or “No”, and indicates if the sensor is directly connected to the dashboard or to another ECUOil Pressure:Can be set as “Dynamic” or “Static” and indicates if the oil pressure check must be performed dynamically or statically- Clock controlled by Radio:Can be set as ”Present” or “ Absent”

This function allow the steering angle sensor calibration on vehicles with engine installed transversally, equipped by ABS + ESPTo do it properly, please respect the following conditions:- be sure to have front wheels aligned, moving the vehicle on a flat surface- by vehicle stationary and leaving free the steering wheel, run the procedure and wait for confirmation message from the toolN.B.:The procedure set the present steering angle position as ZERO point;if the value that must be set to zero is more than 25 degrees, the procedure will be stopped.Check the steering wheel's proper mounting, the steering sensor, clear the stored faults and repeat the calibration procedure.

RENAULT ENGINE MANAGEMENT (various)Injectors coding

This function allows the injectors coding of Renault Group vehicles equipped by Diesel engines. Once the procedure runs, the tool shows the 1st cylinder’s injector code, and going on, one by one, all the others; it will be possible to change the code using the dedicated keys or PC keyboard if using a pc version of this program.N.B.:- For injectors with code of 6 digit, the accepted ones are 0 to 9, and A to Z- For injectors with code of 6 digit, the accepted ones are 0 to 9, and A to FWARNING:The 1st CYLINDER IS LOCATED TO THE GEARBOX SIDE !!!Once completed the coding, ALWAYS remember to check the stored codes, leaving the diagnostic and waiting for the Power Latch completion !In case of wrong code(s) stored, repeat the procedure.

Considering that O2 sensors operating temperature is over 300°C, it should be better to start the test once reached the operating engine temperature (80°C).The procedure automatically will accelerate the engine around 2500 RPM; once completed and having got the test results, it will be necessary to stop and crank the engine again for standard operating.

noise level higher than standard7) The procedure duration is 30 minutes min., excluding the needed time to get

operating engine temperature > 80°C8) Once the message PROCEDURE COMPLETED will be shown, it’s mandatory to

exit the diagnostic, KEY OFF and wait for 15/20 minutes before next KEY ON !
