Company background
• Started in 2008, privately funded
• Working with Dye Sensitized Solar Cells (DSC) and related areas of energy efficiency.
• Increasing efficiency on transparent DSC by introducing a one- dimensional photonic crystal (1DPC)
• Secured 5M€ financing in 2010 to build pilot line in Stockholm
• Expanding heavily in 2011
Dye Sensitized Solar Cells - Benefits
I) Transparency
II) Color
III) Flexibility
IV) Not sensitive to incident angle of incoming light
V) Not sensitive to low light conditions – real life working conditions
VI) Embedded energy from production is very low, energy payback time less than one year
VII) Good temperature coefficient – not suffering from heat
VIII) Cost structure is low, no scarce resources

NLAB Solar can increase efficiency on any transparent DSC
International cooperations to grow
• Small company on a large market need to cooperate to grow globally
• Impossible to have all competence inhouse, best at choosing
• Defining the boundaries internally and externally, who does what?
Current International cooperationNORDIC DSC• Nordic Consortium for future Dye Sensitized Solar Cells
• A project of 1,5M€ headed by NLAB Solar
• Fasadglas, YKI, TKK, DTI, SSARK and NLAB Solar
• Consortium to accelerate development and shorten time to market for NLAB Solar products
Current International cooperationNational Research Council of Spain
• Framework agreement with the National Research Council of Spain, NLAB finances expert R&D in Spain
• Consolidate R&D and knowledge derived and produced in target markets
• Cooperation to develop products close to the market, cheaper and more correct
