Side2Side transform under utilised space
Side2Side is the ideal Compactus for transforming
under utilised areas into efficient storage space. It’s
simple really! We just place a row of mobile shelving
in front of a row of static shelving.
05
Storage for Unconventional Space
Side2Side turns the most unconven-
tional areas into unique and
productive storage spaces.
Side2Side is perfect for alcoves,
narrow spaces and unusually
shaped rooms.

Greater access at any one time
Increase Productivity & Efficiency
Increase productivity and efficiency by locating more materials closer to the point-of-use. Side2Side eliminates the need
for permanent aisles, as all materials are accessed from the front of the unit, converting precious floor space to
storage space. By simply placing a row of mobile units in front of the existing Static Shelving, it has improved the
storage in this example by 66%.
Wasted Space
More Pick Faces
Side2Side also provides more
“pick-faces” and faster access
to stored items than conventionalCompactus units.7

Freetrack the ideal in-office
Compactus system
Freetrack provides high capacity in-office storage
together with speed of access. Create additional work-
space with this economical solution providing high
volume storage of items that need to be close at hand.
07
Perfectly Suited to Any Space
Unlike older style Base Mounted
Systems, Freetrack is far more
flexible. Not restricted by track
length you can tailor a system to
suit your available space. Simply cut
tracks to the required length.
Quicker, Easier and Cleaner
Tracks do not require a timber infill
nor do they require floor fixing.
Therefore, Freetrack is easy andcost effective to install, relocate or
reconfigure.

Unique Tracks “Low-profile” tracks reduce trip
hazards and provide trolley and
wheelchair access. Tracks can be
spliced allowing for extension using
existing components.
Increase Document Availability
Quick and easy retrieval of information is critical in today’s business environment. Reduce downtime and increase
document availability by 100% with Freetrack as this example shows.
Multimedia CompactusClever use of standard components
allows a tailored multimedia solution
to be created. The 130mm deep
shelf makes it perfect for DVD’s,
CD’s and videos.
Light Weight Runners
By using ‘light weight’ runners
Freetrack does not require a heavy
base, thereby reducing operator
strain. This also means there is less
load imposed on the floor.
Stability In-built anti-tilt mechanism means
tracks do not require fixing to floor
surfaces and units do not require
overhead stabilisers.

mek the “safer” Compactus
mek drive is revolutionising in-office storage. It is the
lightest mechanically assisted mobile available by far.
This keeps floor loads to a minimum, a major consider-
ation in some high rise buildings. And best of all, its
unique belt-drive technology moves bays effortlessly
reducing operator strain and potential causes of injury.
09
Innovative Design
Ideal in any business or retail
environment, mek drive combines
high volume storage with quick,
easy and safe access to stored
items. Like Freetrack, mekdriveriv
is easily installed, relocated and
reconfigured.

combined with ultra light operation
reduces the risk of operator stress
and injury. The unique belt drive
technology provides whisper quiet
operation.
Unique Low-Profile Tracksmek drive has multiple tracks
allowing better distribution of floor
loads and can be easily adjusted for
floor settlement.
Low-profile tracks are not fixed to
floor surfaces, so units can be easily
relocated or expanded as needs
require.

greater loads due to its strong
and rigid track and base system.
Its bolt together construction means
a variety of lengths are available
enhancing the systems flexibility
and modularity.
Ergonomic Safety The ergonomically designed hand
wheel on Multi-Bay provides a safe
means for operating the unit. All
drive mechanisms are concealed
behind the units finishing panels.
Safe and Solid PlatformMulti-Bay is fitted with an infill floor
between the tracks to provide a safe
and solid working platform. The infill
platform is met by a ‘walk-up’ ramp.
Carpet floor coverings can be relaid
over the timber.

Improve Storage Density
Why let aisles occupy costly floor space? Improve storage density and make the best use of available floor space by
converting static storage units to Multi-Bay. By removing two of the aisles in the example below, this office has
improved its storage capacity by 50%.

Its variable gearing enables the operator to move very
heavy loads of up to 35 tonnes with absolute ease.
Designed to exacting standards to stand the test-of-
time, it is the leading system for the long term storage
of items in archives, museums, libraries and galleries.
13

crank incorporates rotating knobs
at the end of each spoke. Various
locking systems can be incorpo-
rated within the standard hand
crank.

Rails “On Floor”Rails can be installed on an existing
finished floor. Rails are laid in
conjunction with a purpose designed
flooring system, to create a level
surface between rails and floor. The
height of the floor is usually 40 -
50mm above floor level.
First Class AccessAll floors are finished with an
aluminium ramp providing trolley
and wheelchair access.
Rails “In-Floor”
Rails can also be installed level with
concrete floors, providing an infloor
finish.
Unique DesignRails are used to distribute floor
loads equally. The unique Inco rail
has a convex shape to accept the
concave rim of the guide wheel.
Emission Free
New emission free aluminium
flooring is designed specifically to
suit damp environments and where
the conservation of irreplacable
items is key.

Length is Our StrengthBases are available in a wide range
of sizes up to 12m. Bases are
crank-driven to move loads up to
35 tonnes.
Positive Drive
There are drive systems with
alternative gearing ratios that
ensure effortless movement
regardless of the weight of the
contents or the number of bays.
Anti-Tilt
An anti-tilt device located on the
base prevents the unit from tilting.
An overhead stabiliser can be added
if additional anti-tilt safety is
required.
In-Built Safety Features
The drive mechanism incorporates
a safety clutch system that limits
the operating force and protects
the operator from injuries caused
by backlash of the drive system.

Aisle Lock
An aisle lock is fitted to the hand
crank. When the knob is pushed in
the aisle is secured.
Floor Lock The floor lock, locks the total
system.
When security is the key
Where security of stored materials
is very important, Archive is the
perfect choice. Various locking
devices help protect contents from
unauthorised access.
Hand Crank Key Lock A hand crank key lock is used to
lock one or more mobile bases by
means of a key.
BEFORE - Layout limitations using competitive systems
AFTER - Archive flexibility allows new configurations
Increase Capacity and Pick-Faces Whilst Reducing Costs
Unlike many mobile systems on the market, the unique design properties of
Archive mean you can install units up to 12,000mm deep. In this example,
we compare competitor layouts with Archive. Archive increases storage
capacity by 22% plus the number of pick-faces by 9%. Costly hand crank
mechanisms have also reduced in number by 64%.
Inter Lock
The inter lock secures one particu-
lar aisle against access without a
key. The interlock is engaged when
the aisle is closed. The bases
remain joined until the inter lock is
disengaged by means of the euro
lock.

Power3
the intelligent Compactus
Power3 offers high capacity storage with a wide range
of intelligent operating functions controlled through a
‘one-touch’ pad. Ideal for the bulk storage of documents
or items that are frequently accessed or where long-
term security of the stored items is a priority, Power3
incorporates all the security features of Archive with
additional intelligent safety and security functions.
17
OH & S Conscious
In today’s Occupational Health and
Safety conscious environment,
Power3 eliminates risk of operator
strain and injury. Power3 can be
linked to climate control, lighting or
fire alarms. It also has a night time
setting option.

18
Touch Pad
The touch pad is located on the
front panel of the mobile or static
base. By touching the pad the unit
will move either left or right. The
touch pad also allows programming
and access control via transponder
keys.
Distance Sensor
Soft ‘start and stop’ ensures
vibration-free, safe movement.
Programmable distance sensors
allow you to adjust the base
stopping distance to allow for
overhanging materials.
Motion Detector (Option)
The motion detector is an infra-red
motion sensor. When it detects
motion in the aisle, the aisle cannot
be closed for a certain period of
time. One or two sensors can be
used per aisle.
Transponder Keys
There are two kinds of keys -
transponder accessing keys and
transponder programming keys. The
access keys open up secured aisles
and programming keys are used to
turn on and off program settings.
Infra-Red Photo Cell (Option)When an aisle is closing and the
photo cell infra-red beam is
interrupted by an object or person
the main power to the motors is cut
off. Photo cells can be applied to
one side or both sides of the aisle.
Safety PlinthThe safety plinth enables persons in
a closing aisle to stop the moving
mobiles. By kicking or hitting the
lower part of the plinth, the main
power to the motors is cut off.
Objects left in the aisles will activate
safety plinths causing the power to
cut off. A safety plinth can be applied
to one or both sides of the aisle. The
safety plinth acts as an alternative to
the infra-red photo cell.Passive Block Safety (Option)
A ‘passive’ safety system forces the
operator to look into the opened
aisle before another aisle can beopened.
Motor Current Monitoring System
(MCMS)
As a standard safety feature all
Power3 control systems incorporate
the MCMS. This system monitors
the electric current being utilised by
the motor. When the system
detects a change in the current due
to pressure against a moving mobile
the MCMS control system issues an
emergency stop command and the
mobile movement ceases.

Double Decker offers optimum use of space in higher
buildings. Double Decker incorporates all the benefits
of Power3 while offering ultimate space efficiency. One
touch operation of the pad provides user friendly and
safe operation on both levels. Vibration-free movement,
thanks to the soft start and stop feature, ensures that
documents stay in place during retrieval.
19
Space Efficiency
Achieve the best space efficiency in
buildings with ceiling heights greater
than 4.5m. The unique mezzanine
construction carries the weight of
the operator only.
