A Word From Pastor Mark... “Again, Jesus said, ‘Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.’ And with that he breathed on them and said, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.” John 20:21-23 Dear Friends, Jesus is always surprising! Following his resurrection, Jesus appears to his disciples, overcoming their fear, heartache, and doubts. But not only that, he also sends them out, commissions them with the ability to forgive sins and…tells them to receive the Holy Spirit. That’s amazing! It would have been wondrous enough if he had simply appeared – he conquered death! But he also sends them and sends them the Spirit. Jesus knew that we would need the Holy Spirit to complete his work in this world. He knew that we could not do this alone. But who is the Holy Spirit? How does he work? What does he do exactly and how can we be filled with the Holy Spirit as the disciples were? The Holy Spirit is perhaps the most mysterious person in the Trinity, but he doesn’t have to be. During March in Alpha, we’ll be looking at just those questions and finding answers to them. Come, seek the Spirit and his fullness with us and see what God might do! We’ll see you on Sunday mornings, and, bring a friend!

Alpha Youth is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone 6th through 12th is welcome. It runs in lunch rooms in schools, youth groups, homes—you name it. No two Alphas look the same, but generally they have three key things in common: food, a talk and good conversation. If your student has questions, Youth Group is a safe place to ask those questions, and Alpha is the prime avenue in which to explore and discover

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:14
Greetings Folks,
Our faith is a process of endless exploration of God’s infinite goodness and beauty. Just as adults and youth continue the exploration through our Alpha series, children will also be doing some of their own explorations. More specifical-ly, they will be exploring the connection between individuality and God’s character as shown through God’s story. God is one of a kind. He has no beginning and no end and everything He has created is unique and one-of-a-kind, in-cluding people created in His image. Every person is an original reflection of God in how they love, care for others, imagine, create, and solve problems. Jesus lived this out in the way He loved all people, and helped people feel like they had value no matter who they were or what they had done. We can reflect this in the way we live out how God created us. Look below at what we’re teaching kids this month and ask yourself, are we living these truths out in such a way that will impact the lives of kids and give them a better future? Maybe but maybe not….either way, there is always room for improvement!
Peace and thanks to you all,
Brendan Kavanagh

Transformation Talk What’s been happening in our church of late? We’re seeing people walk in our doors who have had no relationship with the living Christ and walk out as different people. We had two people that let us know they prayed along with Pastor Mark receiving
Christ’s forgiveness and asking him to come into their lives – that’s exciting! The Youth Group is soon starting their own Alpha series on Sunday nights – that’s
amazing! Our Saturday morning Promise Keepers group is putting on a Father/Son BBQ and
“build”, later this month where we’re seeking to draw men’s hearts to their children – that’s wonderful!
We’re looking forward to very dynamic Palm Sunday and Easter services and the start of our next series – that’s powerful!
We need your prayers for these people and these events. We would love to have your participation. Would you like to know more? Or do you have concerns about transfor-mation? Pastor Mark would love to meet with you and answer questions or tell you more. Contact him at: [email protected]
