You wake up in the morning to the sounds of 3 different alarms going off... You’ve already hit the snooze button twice, another 5 minutes would just make you 20 minutes late once you factor in all the additional traffic. It happens nearly every morning, but surely everyone doesn’t go through this same ritual right? We’re all in the same boat pal, so unless you’re one of the rare few who are always energized and perky, you’re probably dragging your feet every work day morning. Some days the morning coffee doesn’t even do anything... you know, those gloomy, cloudy, cold February days where shooting coffee directly in your veins seems like a better idea than drinking it! Then again, around 3 pm you get this feeling you just want to fall asleep. You’re looking at your watch every couple of minutes trying to figure out how to look busy without doing any actual work until it’s time to head home. How on earth are you going to cook dinner, help the kids with their homework, and take care of some house work with this sluggish feeling? You just want to collapse on your bed and call it a night. Sounds familiar? It is! For us and for many American’s. We don’t eat right or sleep right and we don’t have enough time to either! But follow these 3 tips and you’ll feel your energy come back every day, little by little, until you’re ready to run lapse while the rest of the world is towing themselves off to bed. Tip # 1: Get in a routine. When you get into a routine, you’re basically training your body to sleep and wake up at certain times. It will follow your orders, whatever they may be. But if you’re sleeping one night at 9 pm and the next at 12 am then you’re basically telling it to decide for itself when it wants to sleep. Same goes for waking up. Wake up every day at the same time, after the same number of snoozes, in the same manner every day. You’ll actually notice yourself wake up minutes before your alarm goes off after you really brand your routine in your mind. You’re body’s natural clock will know it’s time to get up and it will. Tip # 2: Don’t Skip Breakfast... But Don’t Eat THAT! Eat THIS Instead... Swap your sugary gooey morning pastry for some fruit. The sugar will give you a boost, no doubt about that, but you’ll crash fast and you’ll feel even more tired than you were in a couple of hours. Best to avoid the high sugar all together. Go for the fruits, oats, and protein instead. If you’re a coffee drinker, go for it, but keep it in modera- tion. The more coffee you drink, the more you’ll need to give you your energy boost over time. Tip # 3: Jump Jump! Move Around! Move Around! The more blood flow you have pumping through your veins, the more energetic you’ll be. Even something as small as some crunches, or pushups, or even just a walk will get your blood moving. Throughout your day, when- ever you’re feeling sluggish, get up and walk around, or do some sort of movement. It’ll keep you sharp and alert! Now as for the 3 supplements we’ve used ourselves with great results. Remember these are what we at Your Com- munity Insider have tried and tested. You should always consult with your doctor before taking any supplement to make sure it’s right for you: Supplement # 1: Source Of Life RED Multi-Vitamin & Mineral Liquid Just 1 cap a day of this liquid vitamin did us wonders. We all take it, it’s that good! And it doesn’t taste half bad either. Supplement # 2: Rhodila This herb has been “shown to increase energy, physical endurance, and well being”. This herb actually surprised me. I felt a boost in energy, but the verdicts still out on whether it will continue to keep me energized or have fading effects. It’s been recommended by Dr. Oz, so he definitely knows more than me. Supplement # 3: Oat Straw Extract This is a liquid tincture that you mix with any other drink. It has practically no distinct taste so it won’t give you a funny face while drinking it. It takes a few days to feel some results, but I like it. It was also recommended by Dr. Oz. Now work these things we’ve talked about into your schedule. You’ll be feeling more energetic and powerful throughout your day in no time! You`re Tired - We Know - We Were Too! But Not Any More...

These 3 Simple Tips Will Keep You

Supercharged Throughout

Your Day! You wake up in the morning to the sounds of 3 different alarms going off... You’ve already hit the snooze button twice, another 5 minutes would just make you 20 minutes late once you factor in all the additional traffi c.

You’re looking at your watch every couple of minutes trying to fi gure out how to look busy without doing any actual work until it’s time to head home.

Throughout your day, when-ever you’re feeling sluggish, get up and walk around, or do some sort of movement. It’ll keep you sharp and alert!

How to Frame Your Creative ExpertiseWritten by Peter Guber - http://blog.entrepreneurthearts.com

When you don’t get the raise, sign the deal, sell the product, or lose to the competition, the worst claim you can make is that you’re unlucky. This paralyzes you from taking the necessary action to change the course and bring “luck” in your favor… which begs the question, how do you make your own “luck?”

I fi nd the most “lucky” people in business are the ones who fi rst start with a clear inten-tion of what they want. They can articulate it, describe it, feel it, and make it absolutely real. In a sense, they visualize it already done, and are pulled towards it as their goal. They see the process and its outcome as aspirational not perspirational. Their attitude, as much or more than their aptitude, drives the destiny of their goal.

The “lucky” ones realize they must work harder than everyone else. When success doesn’t happen, their patience and persistence forces them to ask the critical questions as to why the process hit a speed bump. With this acute sensitivity, they’re constantly making course corrections to their goal.

Making your “luck” for whatever your goal, requires your authenticity. More often than not, you’re trying to persuade others to become cohorts in the process or at least buy into your proposition. In almost every case, collaboration for execution is necessary. And so, you must always be interested in what’s in it for them. Can you make it a win/

win proposition so you’re both “lucky?” If there’s risk, and there’s always risk where you think there’s “luck,” are you shining the light on the risk – demonstrating you have skin in the game? If you’re partners in the outcome, you must proclaim that you will laugh and cry together.

It’s a hard job to get “lucky.”

I know. For 15 years I tried and failed to own a major league sports team. My quest started as CEO at Sony in the 1990’s, where my clear intention was to move my ex-perience with location based entertainment into sports. I had led studios, made huge numbers of fi lms, ran a huge global exhibition circuit and thought major league sports were a great forum for my transportable skills. Pulled toward this goal, I worked fero-ciously to buy the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Kings as the requirement to acquire Prime Ticket for Sony. At virtually the fi nal moment, Bruce McNall, the owner of the LA Kings, called to say that he could not sign, and in fact, was being indicted by the federal government and the whole thing quickly unraveled and failed. Talk about “unlucky!”

TOP 5 FOOD ADDITIVES TO AVOIDBy Jordan Miller

Ever since the advent of canning foods, food additives have been steadily growing in popularity. Preserving foods dates back many hundreds, if not thousands of years, although the method of preserving foods was limited to mainly two methods : pickling and preserving in salt. Fast forwarding to today, there are literally hundreds of sub-stances that are added to foods to help give them a longer shelf life. Not only do these additives preserve food, but they also purposely added to foods to change their colour, prevent rancidity, act as thickening agents, ensure fats are emulsifi ed and stabilized. Es-sentially, food additives are chemical or synthetic compounds that have been isolated for the strict purpose of adding to our food, whereby many of which have been known to cause negative health effects. Even more concerning, is that none of us really know the cumulative or combined long-term consequences for consuming such a large quantity of additives. A typical household in Canada or the USA spends about 85-90% of their food budget on processed foods. As a result, many people are exposed to a multitude of different food additives, many of which can cause severe negative health effects. We cannot name all the additives used here, however, we can alert you to the main 5 which we think you should absolutely avoid.

Top 5 Food Additives to Avoid

1. Artifi cial Sweeteners: Aspartame, or many of the other high intensity sweeteners that are hitting the market at an alarming rate are primarily found in food items that are entitled “diet or sugar free”. Aspartame is actually classifi ed as a carcinogen, which is actually responsible for more adverse reaction reports than all other foods and food additives combined. Asparatame and related substances are highly neurotoxic; they produce effects such as dizziness, headaches, mental confusion, migraines, and seizures. Avoid if you suffer from asthma, rhinitis (including hayfever), or urticaria (hives). Acesulfame-K, neotame, sucralose, and the like are relatively new to the market, and have not been thoroughly tested. It is believed that some of these new sweeteners can be linked to kidney tumours. If you’re interested in learning more about artifi cial sweeten-ers, and their behavioral effects, make sure to check-out the documentary Sweet World: A poisoned World.

Found in the following: diet or sugar free sodas, diet coke, coke zero, jello (and over gelatins), desserts, sugar free gum, drink mixes, baking goods, table top sweeteners, cereal, breath mints, pudding, kool-aid, ice tea, chewable vitamins, toothpaste.

2. Monosodium Glutamate (MSG): MSG is an amino acid which is primarily used as a fl avour enhancer in soups salad dressings, chips, frozen entrees, and many restaurant foods. It is known as an excitotoxin, whereby the substance overexcites the cells to the point of dam-age or even death. Studies have shown that the regular consumption of MSG may result in adverse side effects including depression, disorientation, eye damage, fatigue, headaches, and obesity. Interestingly, MSG has the ability to also affect the neurological pathways of the brain and neutralize leptin’s ability (hormone that controls appetite) to essentially tell our bodies to stop eating. In effect, it may be hard for many whom are ex-posed to this substance, to control the amount they eat.

Found in the following: Chinese food ( Chinese Restau-rant Syndrome ) many snacks, chips, cookies, season-ings, most Campbell Soup products, frozen dinners, lunch meats.

3. High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS): HFCS is a highly refi ned sugar that is derived from the processing of corn. Corn, one the primary monocultures grown in both Canada and the USA, is grown (along with soy) mainly for the purpose of fi lling pre-packaged foods. It has become the primary source of calories for Americans as it is present in almost all processed foods on the market today. HFCS contributes to weight gain more than any other substance. It increases LDL cholesterol beyond its normal ratio to HDL, and contributes to the development of type II diabetes and tissue damage.

Found in the following: most processed foods, breads, candy, fl avoured yogurts, salad dressings, canned vegetables, cereals

4. Food Colouring: Studies have recently shown that food colouring, which can be found in meats, soda, juices, and salad dressing, may contribute to behavioural prob-lems, particularly in children and may also lead to a signifi cant reduction in the child’s ability to learn. Other studies have linked food colouring to cancer. Some colours of particular interest to avoid are the following:

-Blue #1 and Blue #2: Banned in Norway, Finland and France. May cause chromosomal damage

Found in the following: candy, cereal, soft drinks, sports drinks and pet foods

-Red dye # 3 (also Red #40):Banned in 1990 after 8 years of debate from use in many foods and cosmetics. This dye continues to be on the market until supplies run out! Has been proven to cause thyroid cancer and chromosomal damage in laboratory animals, may also interfere with brain-nerve transmission

Found in the following: fruit cocktail, maraschino cherries, cherry pie mix, ice cream, candy, bakery products and more.

-Yellow #6 and Yellow Tartrazine: Banned in Norway and Swe-den. Increases the number of kidney and adrenal gland tumours in laboratory animals, may cause chromosomal damage.

Found in the following: American cheese, macaroni and cheese, candy and carbonated beverages, lemonade and more.

5. Trans fat: One of the most dangerous substances to consume, trans fat is used to enhance and extend the shelf life of food products. Numerous studies show that trans fat increases LDL cholesterol levels while decreasing HDL (“good”) cholesterol, increases the risk of heart attacks, heart disease and strokes, and contributes to increased infl ammation, diabetes and other health problems.

Found in the following: margarine, chips and crackers, baked goods, fast foods.

In order for our bodies to heal, it is essential that we fi rst elim-inate the foods that are causing the damage. By sticking to a mainly plant based, whole foods diet, you won’t have to worry as much about food additives in your food. Wherever possible, always try to purchase local organic produce. This way you’re helping the environment as well as supporting local agriculture.

ECO FRIENDLY GARDENING: 8 ways to creatively reuse old household items in the gardenBy Megan Philipp

Gardening is generally considered an eco-friendly act, yet gardeners buy all kinds of things: seed-starting trays, trellises, planters, tools. Rather than buying these items

new, many of them can be found lying around their house. For example, it isn’t uncom-mon for a household to have empty food containers ready to be tossed away, just as it

isn’t unusual for worn-out kitchenware and furniture to be thrown out and replaced. From starting seeds indoors to preserving your harvest, you can renew the life of these items while adding a touch of creativity to your garden while at the same time keeping them out of the dump.

Reuse containers for starting seeds indoors - Yogourt containers, egg cartons, and plastic and Styrofoam disposable cups all can be used for starting your seeds. Just wash them out, drill or cut holes in the bottoms, top up with your potting mix and plant your seeds. Place your seedlings in a sunny window, keep them watered and watch them to grow.

Grow plants in old kitchenware - Kitchen items such as tea kettles, colanders, pots and bowls that you’re ready to throw out can be given a new lease on life as planters in your garden. Colanders, for example, are an option for growing lettuce and they already have holes that allow excess water to escape. Similarly, it’s possible to drill holes in the bot-tom of other kitchenware for proper drainage.

Use a dresser as a planter - If you’re thinking of getting rid of an old dresser, consider saving the drawers, or even the whole dresser, for your planting purposes. Grow shal-low-rooted vegetables, herbs and fl owers in the dresser for a unique and eco-friendly alternative to traditional planters.

Create a tin-can garden - Save your soup and vegetable cans for a tin-can garden. Growing herbs or fl owers in them can create a decorative look out of seemingly mundane cans.

Preserve your harvest in ice-cream containers - Use freezer-friendly plastic containers such as ice-cream containers for preserving summer-har-vest goods such as tomatoes and strawberries, allowing for a taste of summer in the middle of winter.

Refurbish an old swing set for climbing vegetable plants – If your kids have outgrown the swing set, rather than disposing of it you can turn it into a swing-set trellis for climb-ing vegetable plants, such as peas, pole beans and cucumbers. Refurbish the swing set by tying wire lines onto it that will allow the plants to climb.

Use torn pantyhose to tie up your drooping tomato plants - At some point in the season, tomato plants begin to droop under the heavy weight of their fruit, and gardeners need to tie the branches up to prevent the fruit from touching the ground and getting damaged. Old pantyhose is gentle enough on tomato plants that you won’t easily break the branch-es, all the while reusing an item that would otherwise have ended up in the garbage.

Turn old shoes into planters - Instead of tossing old shoes away, reuse them as decorative planters for your yard. You can use them to grow herbs, or even pretty annual fl owers.

HEROES AMONG USBoy Shaves Head to Raise Money for Toddler with Childhood CancerWhen he heard that his 19-month neighbor was diagnosed with a rare cancer, 8-year-old Matthew Santana of Boonton, NJ was inspired to help the young Peyton Zitelli any way he could.

“I fi gured if she was going to lose her hair, I should shave my head for her,” Matthew told DailyRecord.com.

The idea originally came to Matthew after he overheard his parents talking about how Peyton would lose her hair as her cancer treatment progressed.

With the help of his father Ray Santana, Matthew created a Facebook page called Pledges for Peyton with the goal of raising money to help the Zitelli family travel back and forth from a Philadelphia facility where Peyton receives her weekly che-motherapy treatments for alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare childhood muscle fi ber cancer.

According to DailyRecord.com, Pledges for Peyton has raised more than $1,700 dol-lars in the fi rst fi ve days after going live. The group had nearly 150 people RSVPed to attend Matthew’s live head shaving event which took place on Saturday February 9th at the Blackthorn Restaurant & Irish Pub in Parsippanny, New Jersey.

Keeping Your Dog Safe While You`re AwayBy Chuck R Stewart

Many people leave their homes or travel to places that are far away from home. Many people also have dogs. Many people also travel and cant keep their pets out and about in the house for a very long time. Boarding your pets is quite acceptable, because at a boarding house, they are usually kept and cared for better than they would be by themselves. At places like Dog boarding Snohomish and Dog board-ing Bellevue , it is almost impossible to hear that your dogs didn’t enjoy their time while in boarding. Dog boarding is not a bad thing; it just means that you need your dogs to be safe, cared for, and entertained while you are away.

While you are away, your dogs need to be cared for correctly. This doesn’t mean that they can be at home by themselves, eat an entire bag of dog food, and chew up furniture because they are bored. It is much more logical to put your pets in boarding if you do not want your house to be a complete disaster when you get back from the trip. Even the most wonderfully trained pets can leave messes for you. It is better to be safe than sorry when it comes to leaving pets at home.

Sometimes it is very helpful to have a good friend or family member who wouldn’t mind pet-sitting for you, while you are away. Sometimes pet boarding can be expensive, especially if you have more than one pet. Asking a friend or a fami-ly member can be very simple and cost effective for you. One downside to leaving your pets with a sitter though is that they may not get the same love and attention that they would normally get from either you or the people who do it as their job. This is just one of the many variables to consider when deciding what the pets will do while you’re away.

Another important thing to consider is how fl exible the boarding center is. If you are fl ying back from Rome at 2:00 AM in the morning and need to pick up your petsfi rst thing in the morning, the boarding center needs to be open for you to be able

to do so. If the boarding center does not have fl exible hours, this may not be theright place for you. You also want to make sure that the boarding center in not too far from your home, so that you are not driving miles and miles out of your way; that is just a waste of gas and time.

When it comes to getting sitters for your pets, you usually want the best for them, right? Well, it is high time to consider the options and try carefully to choose the best place for you and our pet. Your pets are important and boarding centers know that, which is why most of them will try their absolute hardest to do their job right and make you a longtime customer. It is important that while you are not at home, that your pets have the attention, love, and care that they would have any other normal day.

Wiring A Ceiling FanBy Larry Angell

Most ceiling fans come complete with a light, a variable speed motor, and a reverse switch. Th is seems like a lot to think about when you’re doing all the wiring, but it is really easy. Th e fan manufacturers take all the guesswork out for you.

Th e most important thing to remember is that ceiling fans are fairly heavy and they need a strong light box to hold them in place. If you’re building a new home, then you can put a fan light box in the ceiling instead of a regular light box. A fan light box is made of metal and usually extends between two fl oor joists or raft ers for extra strength.

Be sure to turn off the circuit breaker in the breaker box to kill the power. Also make sure to communicate to other members in the house what you are doing so they don’t acciden-tally turn the breaker on.

When you’re ready to install the ceiling fan, you will need to take apart the fan housing from the canopy. Th e canopy is the base of the fan that connects to the light box in your ceiling. It will have the wires that you need to connect to the wires in the ceiling light box. Th e functionality of the fan will determine how many wires it has.

If the ceiling fan has a light, there will most likely be four wires that need to be connected. Th ere will be a black wire for the fan, a blue wire for the light, a white neutral wire, and a green ground wire. Th e black and blue wires from the fan can both be wired to the black wire from the light box with a wire nut. Th e white wire from the fan will connect to the white wire from the light box, and the green wire will connect to the copper ground wire from the light box with wire nuts.

Once the electrical connection is fi nished, the wires should be secured and tucked neatly into the ceiling light box. Now the canopy of the fan can be attached to the mounting screws in the light box. Make sure the screws are tight.

Now you can install the fan housing to the canopy to secure the fan motor. Th is is done with the housing screws. Make sure these screws are tight also. Once that is fi nished, you can install the fan blades. Most fans will only allow the blades to fi t in one way.

Now, you can turn the breaker on and test the fan to see if it works.

5 Ways to Build a Network to Land Your Dream Jobby Bonnie Coffey - http://www.texasenterprise.utexas.edu

Many years ago, I was fortunate to land a job that turned out to be one of my all-time favorites. A big reason that dream job became a reality was that a contact of mine took extraordinary steps to make sure I knew the position was open and the deadline for applying because she thought I’d be the best person for the job. Having people who can refer you to opportunities and resources exponentially increases your ability to land your dream job.

A CareerXroads survey reported in December on CNNMoney revealed the most com-mon methods of fi nding a new job. Referrals were No. 1 at 28 percent, followed by job boards at 20.1 percent.

Career websites were a distant third at 9.8 percent. Social media followed at 3.5 percent and career fairs at 1.9 percent. It just makes sense to maximize your referrals when you’re seeking a career change.

Networking know-how is key to job searches. The stronger your network, the shorter your search. Your contacts can provide you with hot tips on openings, access to people you need to know, resources and services you need, and support to keep your spirits up as you search.

Building your network can’t start the day you lose your job or decide to pursue a new one. The time to build a network that will work for you is NOW.

Here are a few tips to help you begin:

• Choose 20 organizations you could imagine yourself working for. Create a folder for each of them and fi ll your folders with all the “intelligence” you can fi nd. Check out company websites, scan newspapers and see whether you already know someone at a company who can give you insider information.

• Pick 50 people for your job-hunt network. Choose people from a wide variety of backgrounds who might hear of opportunities. Include friends, neighbors, fellow alumni, people who are on your personal Board of Directors. Look for people who might have contacts in the 20 organizations you’ve targeted.

• Ask steppingstone questions. Bret, who is transitioning from a military career in procurement, doesn’t ask his contacts whether they have any jobs in purchasing. Instead, he asks, “Do you know of any companies who are buying heavy equipment or building new plants?”

• Be mindful of protocols. If your contact gives you information, let her know what you intend to do with it. Don’t jump the gun – allow your contact to determine the tim-ing of what happens next or when you will follow through. Nothing is more embarrass-ing than to call a referral before your contact has let him know to expect your call!

• Don’t forget to thank those who provide you with vital information, hints and con-tacts!

Welcome our latest Featured Artist in the Morris County Spotlight on Local Talent, Jeremy Ballard. Jeremy is a lo-cal artist who recently just graduated from William Pater-son University. He’s a home grown illustrator and graphic designer..born and raised in Morristown, NJ.

IN HIS OWN WORDS:“Most of my ideas stem from music and my everyday life. There is so much inspiration in this world if you look hard enough for it. Especially in music, a song can deliver a feeling than can be illustrated into color or line. Music pretty much gives me the tools I need to create whatever I want. Practicing pre-visualization of my art doesn’t hurt either. I’ve always been one to imagine what I want to do before I do it. Then I branch my ideas out into different perspectives. I try my hardest to think outside the box.”

HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN LUCKContinued from page 3

Undeterred, persistent and always willing to do the work, I teamed with a few business fi nancial partners in an attempt to acquire the Miami Heat from operating heads and investors, Billy Cunningham and Lewis Schaffel. We made the deal only to fi nd out that the current owners’ father, Ted Arison, had the right to match any offer – which he did. Game over. Unlucky yet again!

“Bad luck” didn’t stop there. I tried and failed to close a deal with Billy Beane of Money-ball fame to purchase the Oakland A’s. The Commissioner squashed it saying MLB want-ed to contract two major league baseball teams, one of which was the Oakland A’s. The deal fell apart and contraction never happened. In 2004, I became partners to purchase the Los Angeles Dodgers for the fi rst time together with Joe Lacob and Frank McCourt. When McCourt named his wife as President and CEO of the business, I knew the four of us couldn’t sleep on one pillow at night – there went that opportunity!

Questioning why I kept experiencing these speed bumps, I ultimately determined that I needed to change course. I channeled my experience, talents, energy and enthusiasm into minor league sports, specifi cally, baseball and hockey. Hockey failed – the audience didn’t give a puck. But, I ignited my baseball interests. Together with partners like Magic Johnson, I built a formidable minor league professional baseball empire comprised of teams and stadiums across the country. My partnership with Magic Johnson and many years of demonstrated successes paved the way for me to become an integral part of the ownership of today’s storied Los Angeles Dodgers with Magic Johnson and the Guggen-heim Group.

You want to know how many people told me I was “lucky” to own the Los Angeles Dodgers? Damn right I’m “lucky!” I earned it!

Before You Hand Over a Smartphone to Your Teen...By SafetyWeb.com

The numbers keep growing. More and more teenagers are not just armed with a mobile phone, but a Smartphone. It’s estimated that close to a quarter of children between 14 and 17 years old already have one according to a recent report by the Pew Internet and American Life Project. While Smartphones are amazing devices that provide access to the world through voice, text and the internet, there are dangers to safeguard your teen (and yourself) against before offi cially handing one over to them.

App website, Appolicious recently shared the following important tips that are worth sharing here with you:

Make It Clear That “Check-In” Services Are Limited to Only You and a Close Group of Friends:

Thanks to Facebook and Four Square, it’s possible for any of us to share where we are at any given time through these and other social media sites. On the surface, it may look like a fun way for your teen to let friends and family know what they’re up to but it also can open up the door to strangers having access to this information as well. Although there are ways to restrict who sees status and location updates, the fool-proof way to avoid anyone being able to monitor your teen’s whereabouts is to insist that your child does not share their location outside of family and a few close friends.

Also, keep in mind for an extra $5 - $10 charge, all major cell phone carrier have services that can help you track your child’s whereabouts through his or her phone. Additionally there are several apps that provide this service, such as Glympse, that can be downloaded at no cost to most Smartphone devices.

Make Texting While Driving Not An Option:

Car crashes are already the number one cause of death among teens so adding

texting into the mix is clearly not a good idea. Everyone knows it’s dangerous to text while driving but unfortunately the temp-tation can often outweigh that knowledge. Parents should know that like the check-in services previously mentioned, for a fee, most major cell phone carriers provide a service that can eliminate the ability to text while in motion at certain speeds thanks to GPS technology found within Smartphones. There is also an independent service called tXtBlocker that can prevent texting while in motion and the free ser-vice, “DriveSafe.ly” allows text messages to be read aloud as they are received to help drivers keep their eyes on the road.

Consider Getting A Second Line:

Purchasing a second line may seem like an unnecessary expense but including it on your child’s Smartphone could be the better way to go over the often preferred prepaid phone plan. A second line can set limits on how often the phone can be used for both making calls and texting (with the exception of 911 emergency calls and au-thorized numbers by plan’s owner) which can prevent you from receiving outrageous bills from your cell phone carrier. Plus, it also provides the location-tracking and text-curbing services as mentioned above.

Wi-Fi = Saving:

On the subject of reining in the cell phone bill, encourage your teen to use wireless internet whenever possible when it comes downloading apps, video clip or playing games with others online. At home that means making sure their settings on the Smartphone are connected to the home Wi-Fi network. When on the go, instruct them to seek out businesses and other locations such as the local library that have Wi-Fi networks. There are also apps available for both iPhones and Android phones that can help you fi nd Wi-Fi networks in your community.

Providing a Smartphone to your teen might be scary and an added expense, but if used wisely, it can be an immensely helpful tool providing basic assistance like the ability to call for help if needed or get directions when lost, to offering around the clock access to websites and apps that can help with school projects and even remind them to follow through on household chores!

Utilizing Google Hangouts For Your Small Business MarketingBy DJ Baker - superiorbms.com

For small business owners, making the most out of new technologies can be a ticket to success. Most businesses already subscribe to the use of social media forums like Face-book, Twitter and YouTube to spread awareness of their business to a larger audience at a quicker pace. These online tools have revolutionized small business marketing during the past few years. To supplement your social media marketing, Google is pioneering a new method for business people and companies to contact prospective clients and customers with the potential to create an even more direct and immediate impact on their involve-ment in your business.

Google Hangouts

Google Hangouts is an online service that allows users to connect and interact in real time through a video feed. The service allows businesses to host online video conferences for up to 10 people. However, the feature that can have the largest impact on the success of your small business is Google Hangouts’ ability to produce live-stream hangouts on air.

To start a hangout, you can invite specifi c people or contacts from your Google + circles. Once you’ve named your hangout, you have the option to go on air and once you’ve start-ed being on air, the live video stream will start broadcasting on your Google + account, your business’s YouTube channel and any website you’ve embedded with Google Hang-outs. Additionally, a recording of the hangout can be made and shared once you are done.

2 Ways to Utilize Google Hangouts for Small Business Marketing

Host a Q&A Video SessionIf you’re looking for a new way to answer some of your clients’ or customers’ questions, you can invite them to a Google Hangout conference call and answer them directly. This method allows for questions to be answered fully while building rapport. For an added bonus and with the consent of those involved, record the session and post it on your social media pages. Then if other people have similar questions in the future, they can see you solve problems and provide answers in action.

Demo Your Product or ServiceTo build your client base, you can demonstrate the quality and functionality of your product or service. This works especially well for physical products because many people already rely on YouTube videos or other similar services to understand what they are buying and compare it to the competition before going through with the purchase. Google Hangouts can be used as a ‘try before you buy’ tutorial that will increase your customers’ familiarity with your product, thus making them more comfortable buying it.

Get started with Google Hangouts today and begin bringing your message to a broader audience.
