Entrance to the ClubIn early September, a few new walls will appear around the Port Cochère and the temporary entrance will move closer to Zone Bowling.

The entrance will still be accessible, and there will be plenty of directional signage as you enter the driveway!

ReceptionIs going to look a little different for a few months, but you will still be able tobook show tickets, sign in your guests and ask any questions to the team during this time.

PROGRAMPREVIOUS DEE WHY RSL SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS’ UPDATE

When asked how the scholarship has helped Briana this year, she said, “It has been so helpful. I have been able to use the funds to purchase extra resources such as study guides, and I have also been able to get some extra tutoring for areas I found challenging.

It also enabled me to continue doing the extracurricular activities I really enjoy, like competing at a national level for dance, debating and competing in numerous competitions. I am also involved in our school’s musicals and am fortunate enough to be the Creative and Performing Arts Prefect this year.”

Briana is currently studying English advanced, mathematics, chemistry, biology, modern history and dance, and is interested in a future career in medicine or medical sciences.

“I would be really interested in doing further study to be able to support disadvantaged communities. After the HSC I would love to be able to go travelling and be a part of charity work.”

Caleb has also found the scholarship really helpful, alleviating the stress of money throughout the year.

“It has allowed me to focus on my studies and extra-curricular activities. I would definitely encourage anyone to apply, especially if you find yourself very busy with balancing school, your job, and any extracurricular activities you may do.”

He is studying physics, modern history, mathematics, English advanced, English extension 1 and 2, and is interested in both the sciences and also liberal arts. He plans to go to university, possibly to study architecture.

Caleb’s extra-curricular activities include focusing on music with his band ‘Pocket Mammoth’, as well as playing Ultimate Frisbee with Manly Ultimate Club. “I’ve been fortunate enough to play for NSW at the National Youth Championships, and will play with the Aussie U20 Thunder team at the end of this year in the Philippines. I am also definitely interested in music, and playing more gigs with Pocket Mammoth; we want to release an EP sometime next year.”

We caught up with two of the scholarship winners from the 2019 Program – Briana Coles from Stella Maris College Manly, and Caleb Miller from NBSC Balgowlah Boys Campus.

This pork steak comes stuffed with Montenegrin cream cheese and prosciutto and is wearing a coat of tasty crumbs.

Found traditionally in countries of South Eastern Europe, Ćevapi or ćevapčići is a type of kebab, the Montenegrin version is grilled of minced meat.

• Montenegrin Lamb in Milk (Brav U Mlijeku)

Brav u Mlijeku is lamb cooked in milk, yes, milk. Swimming in loads and loads of milk, this is a serious dish of lamb shoulder, bay leaves, peppercorns, carrots and potatoes.
