The four of us spent our community engagement

hours volunteering to help a local elderly lady rake and clean up their yard.

What we did!

We did our volunteer work back home, generally where the four of us live. The lady whom we helped was located in town in Graceville, Minnesota.

Where we did it!

We chose this project because we have done services similar to it before and all of us enjoy doing outside work. Although it was cold, we had fun working together to get the job done.

Why did we choose this project?

We all agree that doing the work and helping someone who isn’t always able was enough pay for us. Knowing that someone is appreciating what you are doing for them is a great feeling.

What was it like?

We would definitely do a project like this again because it was a fun and rewarding experience.

Would we do it again?

We learned that helping out your community is an important part of living in that community. We feel as though volunteering is something you should want to do because you want to help without the reward of money. Money isn’t everything.

What life lesson did we learn?

The elderly woman appreciated very much what we

accomplished for her, and without us it probably wouldn’t have gotten finished. Knowing we took the time to be of help to her earned us respect and gratitude.

What does it mean to her?
