Reminder: Visitors must sign intothe offices and receive aParent/Visitor sticker when visitingour campus. This will help thefaculty and staff to identifyregistered visitors. With ourcampus being located around thevillage park, many times it seemsconvenient for parents orgrandparents to just go up and talkto their children. However, help uskeep our campus safe by signinginto either the MCS or MPC officeand being identified with a clearlyvisible sticker.

A Message From Dr. Landgraf

Happy Halloween everyone!!!! October is wrapping up and we will be turning our clocks back this weekend. You should have received your child’s report card for the first grading period by now. I also hope you had an opportunity to have a meeting with your child’s teacher during our scheduled parent-teacher conference times. Research shows that parental involvement in a child’s education leads to higher student academic achievement, better school attendance and improved social skills. Effective communication between school and home is also an essential component. Our school district is fortunate to have so many involved, caring and dedicated parents.

Speaking of communication, I hope you received my email regarding the new app for the MCCSD. The Millstadt School District is proud to offer parents and staff our new app to keep updated on school news and events. Download it today from your app store on both Android and Apple iOS. In your app store, search Millstadt CCSD #160 and look for the paw print. The app has up-to-date news like the daily announcements, an events tab for the calendar of upcoming events, the virtual backpack under the documents tab for fliers and student opportunities, a menu tab for our food service, and a live feed page with pictures and information that is posted to Facebook and Twitter.

I also want to take a moment to congratulate Marge Wolfmeier on her retirement. The school district had a special celebration for her last day on October 26th. Ms. Marge has been an integral part of the school and community for 27 years. Marge has done many different jobs throughout her years with MCCSD. As a crossing guard, working with students during after school care, and playground supervisor, I estimate that Marge has impacted over 2000 children and is now on her second generation of children with our school. Marge has also been instrumental with volunteer activities, such as landscaping around the campuses to help beautify our schools. We will continue to see Marge visit our school throughout her retirement as she loves to help out and attend extra-curricular activities. She will definitely miss the people she has met and worked with, but will NOT miss the cold weather this winter. Wish her well when you see her as she will be enjoying her grandchildren and traveling with girlfriends during retirement.
