A Business Improvement District is a public / private
partnership in which property owners elect to
make a collective contribution to the
maintenance, development and promotion of
their commercial district. BIDs provide services,
such as cleaning streets, providing security, making
capital improvements, construction of pedestrian
and streetscape enhancements, and marketing
the area. The services provided by BIDs are
supplemental to those already provided by the
municipality.

Pocket Parks
In highly urbanized areas,
particularly in downtown
where land is very expensive,
pocket parks are the only
option for creating new public
spaces without large-scale
redevelopment.

Alleyscapes
Compared to other public spaces,
alleys have unique shapes, sizes, and
qualities in the city. With some creative
thinking and a little work, simple
solutions can transform an ordinary
alley space into an extraordinary
public amenity. It is time to take
advantage of these spaces and add a
new layer of urban life to our city.
Alleyscapes
We belong.
By nature good public spaces that respond to the
needs, the opinions and the ongoing changes of
the community require attention. Amenities wear
out, needs change and other things happen in an
urban environment. Being open to the need for
change and having the management flexibility to
enact that change is what builds great public
spaces and great cities and towns.
You are never finished
