CHURCH PROPERTY UPDATE & OPPORTUNITY As noted in a recent Communique, the church has now pur- chased all four of the targeted properties north of church. We will now enter a phase of moving or tearing down three of those homes. Those homes are on 85th Street directly north of the church. The fourth home, purchased from First Re- formed Church, will remain at its current location for the next two years. The Lewis family who owned the 2425 85th Street property required that location for living as part of the sale of their home. After two years, the fourth home will be taken down, as well, for additional parking. Before taking down the three homes, we are offering two of the homes, 8497 Byron Center Avenue and 243585th Street, for potential movement to the highest bidder. For the next three weeks, starting Monday, April 14, and ending Friday, May 2, any church member may submit a sealed bid for either of the two properties. The winning bidder would be responsi- ble for moving the home off the property at their expense by July 31, 2014. Official bid sheets are available in the office, along with keys if you would like to see either home. If we do not receive any bids by May 2, we will list the homes on the MLS Realtor website for outside bidding. If we have no bids by May 31, we will begin taking down the three homes. The short -term plan is to create temporary parking in those open spaces for the 2014 fall and winter church season. The official parking lot expansion project is targeted for spring of 2015.
