Effective assessment and appropriate management of patients presenting with symptoms related to the ears or nose is an important part of general practice. Approximately 4% of GP encounters are solely for ears and 5% of medical specialist referrals are to an ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialist. Common presentations usually diagnosed on otoscopy include ear infections, ear pain, nasal obstruction and foreign bodies. Other common presentations are vertigo and undifferentiated dizziness, ear and nose trauma and hearing loss. This interactive and hands-on workshop will cover assessment and management of the above presentations. Participants will have the opportunity to perform hearing tests and interpret the results with the audiologist. Please bring your otoscope.
