Committee Corner

Welcome back to the second part of the season. The weather hasn’t been that kind to us but hopefully we get the last few weeks in of the season. I hope your all relaxed and reenergized from your holidays and enjoy return to school. Including this Friday, we only have 6 nights left. So we hope to see everyone down to make as many PB’s as possible. Just a reminder there is no Friday night competition Friday 12 February due to the Regional Championships. Our last Friday night for the season which is March 11 State Championships are held the week after we break up 18-20 March

Presentation Night

This year our Presentation will be held Saturday April 30 in the afternoon/early evening. Time and venue will be notified shortly.

Cancellation of Friday Nights

Please refer to either the website or Face Book for cancellations. If this is a problem you can contact someone on the committee after 5pm that day. We try to run as many competitions as we can throughout the season. So this means that sometimes we may not cancel until 6pm, run a modified program or cancel halfway through the night. Of course if we have had heavy rain and the council has closed the grounds, we usually know by 3:30.

Just a reminder, Regional Championships will be held over 3 days, 12-14 February. Please take the time to check what events your child has entered and what days this is on. All information is on the website. Region is held at Campbelltown Athletics Stadium, Leumeah. All Zone & Regional Reps will receive a shirt. Shirt collection will be this Friday and next week at training. Please make yourself available for Friday 5 February to have a group photo. Just like zone, we will sit together as a club. Parents/Guardians are also asked to help out with the parent duty roster that Liverpool will be allocated. As soon as you arrive, please report to the team manager at the Liverpool tent.

Zone Multi

The zone multi is on this Sunday 31st. This is hosted by Warradale LAC. Warragamba Oval, Warradale Rd, Warragamba. First call is 8:45am. We are doing a club entry. The entry fee is $5. This will be taken tomorrow 29 January only. Late entries on the day will be taken between 8:00-8:30 only at a cost of $10. I encourage everyone from our club to compete and show your support from all age groups U6 to U17’s. It’s a great carnival for our zone, also good practice for our athletes going to regional. Warradale LAC has organised a special deal with a local pool next door, where athletes can cool off in between events. Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place getters in each group PLUS - Trophy Feature Event for all Age Groups (Boys & Girls) Athletes compete in 6 events, which are points based. Trans Taman Update

Congratulations to our three athletes that competed in the 2016 Trans Tasman Challenge in Auckland, New Zealand on 19 January. They have come away with so many memories and a great experience they will never forget. They should be very proud of their results, and Liverpool City LAC is very proud of them to represent our club on the NSW team.

Well done and congratulations to Andrew Strevens, Tom Searle and Josh Lewsam. The three of you are all great role models and ambassadors for Liverpool City LAC and NSW.
