Amoena Fitter Association for 5+ years fitting in

2008. As such, she is committed to providing

clients with the best possible fitting.

In 2008-2009, Kelly’s became Canada’s highest

volume fitter in the mastectomy industry and has

held that position ever since. With this status, it

becomes clear to clients when entering the

boutique that the myth regarding unavailability of

stylish, beautiful, sexy and functional lingerie and

clothing after a mastectomy just does not exist.

Kelly, even at her young age, was one of the bravest and proudest women I

had the honor of knowing. Kelly: my sister-in-law, my youngest brother’s

wife, my niece’s mother; was diagnosed with inoperable inflammatory

carcinoma in November 2002. She had aggressive chemo treatment until

May 2003 when she underwent a double mastectomy then continued

aggressive chemo and radiation therapies until sadly, she lost her battle

February 20, 2005. Her courage, strength and faith overwhelmed, touched

and taught many along her journey. She would often say, “you take what is

handed to you and you do with it all you can”. Today, her spirit lives on in

the hearts of family and friends; from her portrait, she watches over all

who visit the boutique.

...Kelly’s Mastectomy Boutique Kelly’s diagnosis prompted me to fulfill a long-time interest to work with

women with mastectomies. In June 2003, with Kelly’s blessing, the bou-

tique became her namesake and Kelly’s Mastectomy Boutique opened its

doors. A constantly growing clientele permitted me to open one of the

largest mastectomy stores in the country, to create pleasant and comforta-

ble surroundings for clients and make available a larger selection and

variety of mastectomy garments and products. Every day, I have the dis-

tinct pleasure of meeting the bravest, strongest, most beautiful and incred-

ible women... my clients.

La boutique porte fièrement le nom de ma belle-sœur, l’épouse du plus

jeune de mes frères, la mère de ma nièce Caroline; Kelly, diagnostiquée en

novembre 2002, subi de nombreux traitements chimiothérapie and radio-

thérapie ainsi qu’une ablation bilatérale. Kelly est succombée de son

cancer du sein en février 2005, mais son esprit sourit toujours sur sa

famille et ses amies. Sa photo règne et veille sur la boutique.

At Kelly’s Mastectomy Boutique we offer full and partial breast prosthesis

fitting services after a mastectomy or lumpectomy, mastectomy brassiere

fitting, mastectomy swimwear, compression garments for lymphedema, a

line of headwear for capillary loss and swim caps. We offer a complete

range for most body and surgery types fitted only by certified12 fitters. A

compression garment fitter measures for compression sleeves, truncal

edema garments and gloves for those patients suffering post-mastectomy,

lumpectomy or post-treatment lymphedema.

Post-surgical camisoles with soft fiberfill or foam prosthesis adapted to fit

offer women a very comfortable solution for wearing immediately after

surgery. The Been-a-Boob prosthesis is a great alternative for workout

and swimming.

Les sélections de vêtements et prothèses après mastectomies ont

beaucoup évolué. La cliente chez Kelly’s est toujours ajustée par une

technicienne certifiée afin de bien répondre à ses besoins. On vous offre

aussi une gamme de vêtements compressifs pour les lymphœdèmes au

bras ou la poitrine.

Fitting for prosthesis occurs minimum six to eight weeks after

surgery. This allows time for healing, reduction of swelling ensuring

a better, more accurate fit.— Afin d’assurer des résultats favorables,

il est fortement suggéré d’attendre 6 à 8 semaines après la chirurgie

pour l’ajustement de la prothèse qui permet une guérison adéquate et

moins de gonflement de la poitrine.
