About the Project: Structural cut and carve project at Africa House, Holborn for BAM.Our package of works at Africa House was a major cutand carve alteration and demolition contract to asignificant former commercial premises in Holborncentral London.This high profile project required substantial temporaryworks design and installation to transfer temporaryloads around occupied ground floor premises of JDWetherspoon and Ladbrokes.The fast track programme of 22 weeks meant a pro-active design process was key to successful delivery ofthe project. Deconstruct were very pleased to ensure asafe and timely delivered project. 3. Project Challenges: Throughout the works a Wetherspoon Public House remained open on theground floor along with a trading Ladbrokes.Because of the nature of the temporary works, loads from the structures retained above had to be diverted around occupied areas, along with vibration and noise being controlled to a minimum. Logistics in and out of the site were restricted to a loading compound to therear, so timely materials management was essential. 4. Services provided by Deconstruct UK: 5.
