The 4500 feet long, 750 feet wide, and 25 stories high world traveling city, named The Freedom Ship is home of the high-end beauty salon called, Freedom salon. This salon consists of public areas such as, manicure and pedicure stations, a massage area, wig retail, refreshment bar and styling stations. the space also provides the employees with the ability to work in a sterilized and organized work zone with lockable drawers and shelving, along with numerous amounts of storage space. Supporting the sterilized needs of this space the private mechanical room and utility room supply adequate equipment to make sure that these needs are being met. The manager and owners also need their space to get away and work on private documentation, therefore the private office provides the ability to get away from the hustle and bustle of the everyday salon life.

NAME: SUZANNE HARLOWSUZANNE HARLOW IS A WELL ESTABLISHED BEAUTICIAN WITH 40 PLUS YEARS OF EXCEPTIONAL EXPERIENCE. SHE HASWORKED AT 7 DIFFERENT SALONS, CONDUCTED NUMEROUS EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS, AND STYLED ON THE ROOF TOPS OFITALY. SUZANNE IS STARTING A NEW ADVENTURE BY OPENING UP A SALON ON THE FLOATING CITY CALLED THE FREEDOMSHIP. THE 25 STORY, 750 FT WIDE, 4500 FT LONG SHIP WILL “CREATE A UNIQUE LIFESTYLE THAT ALLOWS FAMILIES ANDINDIVIDUALS TO WORK, LIVE, AND TRAVEL SIMULTANEOUSLY.” SUZANNE’S SALON NEEDS TO MEET ALL OF THE HEALTHCARE REQUIREMENTS AS WELL AS THE WANTS AND NEEDS OF THE CONSUMERS. FROM THE RECEPTION AREA,REFRESHMENT BAR, MULTIPLE STYLING STATIONS, MANICURE AND PEDICURE AREAS, AND MASSAGE ROOM THIS SALONWILL BE A RETREAT OF CONTEMPORARY TRANQUIL DESIGN.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS FOR COSMETOLOGY AND ESTHIOLOGY BODY POSITION COSMETOLOGY: LONG PERIODS OF TIME STANDING ARE REQUIRED FOR COSMETOLOGISTS. BODY POSITION ESTHETICIANS ARE REQUIRED TO SIT AND LEAN FORWARD WHILE PROVIDING MOST SERVICES

ESTHIOLOGY: AND STAND WHILE LEANING OVER FOR OTHERS.

HANDS: HANDS WILL NEED PROTECTION FROM CHEMICALS AND CONTINUOUS EXPOSURE TO WATER AND CLEANSING AGENTS. HAND CARE PRODUCTS ARE RECOMMENDED FOR ALL SERVICE PROFESSIONALS.

BACK: MINOR BACK STRESS MAY BE CAUSED BY LONG INTERVALS OF STANDING, SITTING OR LEANING. PLEASE CONSULT YOUR PHYSICIAN OR CHIROPRACTOR IF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCED BACK PAIN IN THE PAST.

CHEMICALS: AS A COSMETOLOGIST OR ESTHETICIAN, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO WORK WITH MANY DIFFERENT TYPES OF PRODUCTS AND CHEMICALS. IF YOU CURRENTLY HAVE ALLERGIES OR SENSITIVITIES TO CHEMICALS, PLEASE CONSULT YOUR PHYSICIAN WITH A LIST OF THE CHEMICALS YOU WILL BE EXPOSE TO.

SANITATION: COMMUNICABLE DISEASE CAN BE EASILY TRANSMITTED FROM ONE INDIVIDUAL TO THE NEXT. SPECIAL ATTENTION MUST BE PAID TO YOURSELF AND YOUR CLIENT TO AVOID SPREADING ANY DISEASE. TRADE TOOLS: THERE ARE OBVIOUS HAZARDS WHEN WORKING WITH SHARP OBJECTS SUCH AS SUCCORS, RAZORS, CLIPPERS, LANCETS, EXTRACTORS, ETC. CAUTION MUST BE USED WHEN HANDLING ANY SUCH ITEM.

GENERAL SAFETY: ON A DAILY BASIS USE CAUTION AND COMMON SENSE TO AVOID ENTERING INTO ANY OF THE FOLLOWING

The Freedom Salon is a space dedicated to the necessities of the consumers as well as the employees. Focusing on ERGONOMICS, the furniture will provide easy usage

and comfort, and also allowing the stylist to conduct their job to their upmost capabilities. This will increase productivity and comfort simultaneously. This will also help prevent FIBROMYALGIA. STERILIZATION is highly important. Guaranteeing a

clean work zone ensures the customers return, and also by preventing infection with the proper dispensary areas supports the needs of cleanliness. Allowing the customers to have a tranquil and stress free experience there needs to be proper

ACOUSTICAL treatment. The office and massage rooms will be treated properly to be able to conduct private and secure matters. Proper VENTILATION will allow the client and stylist to have clean air to breathe while in the space. Lockable cabinets and storage areas will offer the SECURITY needed for this space. Conducting the proper needs of the clients the SPECIFIC EQUIPMENT will help the employees to

perform to the fullest potential with less maintenance and longer lasting performance.
