Tate and I have felt so encouraged by the staff, parents, and community of FUMC. Thank you for welcoming us and for giving us the opportunity to minister to the students of our church. This spring, we are teaching on two major issues that students face: identity & purpose. On Sunday nights, we are focusing on who God is, who we are, and what God created us to do. We worship a good and loving Heavenly Father who desires to be in relationship with these students. He has created them, called them, and equipped them to do great things for His Kingdom! Middle and high school are formative years as students begin to ask tough questions, make major life choices, and undergo so many changes. It is our prayer that our students would encounter His love this spring. They, like most of us, do not simply need more head knowledge. They need an encounter with the living God. With each game we play, snack we share, or conversation we have, we expect God to move. We are asking for the Lord to become real to our students. And we believe He will! Tate and I think that life is done best in community. We are committed to loving and serving our students, but there are only two of us. We need you!! Our students need you!! Instead of shying away from the, awkward teen years”, what if every member of FUMC honored and valued our students by giving hugs, asking questions, and committing them to prayer? What if we were the church known for welcoming and embracing teenagers? What if our students left high school rooted and established in Christs love because of the commitment and prayers of each of us? I challenge you and thank you ahead of time for your response. Harbor Youth

What a great start we have had this month with the youth! We kicked off a series called “God is…” this past Sunday night and Tate spoke on how God is…relational. Our students had great discussion on why it can sometimes be difficult to have relationship with such a big and perfect God. Thankfully we serve a God who came down to us and teaches us how to be in relationship with Him. We ended the night with a crazy game of charades! We will NOT have regular youth this coming Sunday as the schools are on Winter Break. But we hope to see everyone in Sunday school to dive deeper into the Bible! Join us this week in reflecting on Hebrews 4:12: “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” Ashley Welling

Prayer & Self Denial Luncheon February 20th

11:00 am Worship Center

The United Methodist Women invite all the Women of the church to a covered dish luncheon. The meat will be provided. Come and bring a dish to share.

Worship Walkers

Do you want to walk but don’t like walking alone? Or, is where you walk not the safest place to walk? Beginning March 12th, we plan to start a walking group that meets on Tuesday and

Thursday afternoons, as well as Saturday mornings. This walking group is for all ages, genders and walking levels. You don’t have to be a speed walker but enjoy walking with other people. Call the Church office by February 28th if you’re

interested in walking the track at the church. This will let us know if people are interested in this gathering. Times and weather conditions will be discussed once we see how many people will be walking.

Let’s Get Moving!!!
