The Rushton Conservaon Center will showcase the programs of the Willistown Conservaon Trust and provide a venue to explore regional and naonal issues in conservaon. WHAT’S IT FOR? WHAT’S INSIDE? A mber-frame gathering room with mul-media capabilies for meengs, lectures, and community gatherings A demonstraon kitchen with full pantry, perfect for exploring farm to fork eang at its best A dedicated library and research room to enhance the research of our staff, interns, and university partners A mulpurpose room with research equipment to support our Watershed Protecon, Bird Conservaon and Field Study Site programs The building will be surrounded by an ecological landscape incorporang a variety of nave plants, selected to encourage healthy habitat for wildlife and to serve as a model for sound land stewardship Culinary classes for school children, who will learn about sustainable food systems by picking produce from Rushton Farm and using it to prepare healthy meals in the demonstraon kitchen Research opportunies for interns engaged in our Agroecology, Watershed Protecon, Bird Conservaon, and other environmental programs Lectures on important topics in conservaon, featuring Willistown Conservaon Trust staff and guest speakers Demonstraon kitchen dinners hosted by local chefs eager to share their secrets for cooking with sustainably sourced ingredients Community workshops on topics related to conservaon, such as creang wildflower meadows with nave species or building bird conservaon habitats in your own backyard YOU!—our community of conservaonists—and all who are interested in nature, the environment, and land conservaon.
