WRITING ABOUT CHRISTMAS
I had lots of fun last Christmas. All my family: cousins,
uncles, aunts had dinner in my grandparents’ house on Christmas
Eve.
Father Christmas took me a Play Station 2 game and
controls, a pyjama, a police station and a Simpsons chess game.
The three Wise Men Eve I went out for the parade with my
parents. My favorite Wise Man, Gaspar, took me a transformer
set, a remote control car, a Real Madrid pencil case and two
jigsaws.
WHAT I LIKE MOST
Last afternoon, we had a lot of fun at home. We free Chipy,
my squirrel in my dining room.
He hid under the sofa, under the table and then under the
chair. He bit the wires and finally he jumped in the cage.

CHRISTMAS
I started my holidays on December the 22nd. On Christmas I
have made lot of things, but above all I have played a lot.
In the mornings I made my homework, I studied and then I
played.
On Christmas Eve I went to another town called La Peraleja
to have dinner to my grandparents’ house. After dinner, we went
to my cousin’s house to see if Father Christmas had come. He
brought me a film about Wizards. The rest of the days I was
studying and reading.
On New Years’ Eve my cousins came to have dinner and eat
the twelve grapes. On January the 3rd we celebrated my
grandparents’ golden weddings, because they got married 50
years ago.
This year I couldn’t see the Three Wise Men Parade
because it was raining, but they brought me a lot of presents.

ABOUT ME.
Hello, my name is Roberto Carrasco and I am eleven years
old, almost twelve. I live in Huete, Spain, and I study in this
town. People say I have a strong temper and I also scream a lot,
but I disagree.
I am tall with brown hair and brown eyes. I like playing songs
with my father. I like the music a lot, and I am in the Town
music orchestra. I play the trumpet and I have more
instruments, like an accordion, an electric guitar and a classic
guitar. I also play football in the local team. I am the goalkeeper.
I am in the 6th grade, and we are 23 pupils in my class. My
school is under construction. They have already finished the
gym. They also made a new soccer court and they are now
rebuilding the headteacher office. We have a room with 12
computers, and an interactive whiteboard.
I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

MY CHRISTMAS
On December 22nd our Christmas holidays start. I always
stay in my village because my family lives here. These holidays it
has been raining every day. Every year in my grandpa’s house we
decorate the Christmas tree. When my mother was younger, my
grandpa cut a tree from the woods and they decorated it. This
year my teacher has been a good teacher and we haven’t got
homework, so I spent my free time reading and studying.
This year we have bought more candies and chocolate than
ever.
On Christmas Eve, we have dinner at my grandma’s house,
with my cousins. After dinner we came back to my house and my
parent drunk champagne. On New Year’s Eve I was having dinner
with my cousins in my grandma’s house.
This year the Three Wise Men bring me money, colony and
table games.
Christmas is my favorite Festival!

On Christmas holidays I had fun and I had the chance to
enjoy many things.
I played, I did my homework, I was with my family and I saw
the Three Wise Men.
On December the 24th I had dinner with my grandparents,
my parents and my aunt, and Father Christmas came around with
many gifts for all. I really had fun.
On December the 31st, I had dinner with my grandparents in
Huete. I was playing with my cousin who lives there. After having
dinner, at twelve o’clock, we had grapes and we congratulated all
the family because of the New Year, and I really had fun too.
Then I waited until January the 5th in the evening to go to
the cavalcade of the Three Wise Men and I went to sleep
immediately in order that, on the 6th, they brought presents, and
everything which a lot of illusion. And back to school again!

OUR TRADITIONS
We celebrate Saint Sebastian. Our patron Saint Sebastian
was born in Narbonne (France) in 256 and died in 288. He was a
Roman soldier. Maximiliano condemned him to death.
It is celebrated on January 20th and he is the protective
patron of pests and illness in many cities and villages. These
festivities are celebrated in Argentina, Colombia, Chile, El
Salvador and in Spain, in Andalucia, Aragon and Castilla La
Mancha.
Here in Villalba del Rey the dancers are dancing from the
street of the square to the hermitage, and when they come to
the hermitage they say poems to Saint Sebastian. At the end of
the procession people throw rockets (fireworks).
CHRISTMAS
In Christmas we had a fun time. When it snowed in our
village we did snowmen. We skated in the frozen streets. In the
fountain of the square the water was frozen. Father Christmas
gave us money and lots of presents. The Three Wise Men gave
us remote-controlled cars, clothes, chocolates and dolls.

Christmas
At Christmas in our village people put a Nativity scene at
the door of the Town hall that it is in the square. Also people put
on lights of colors in the streets. Besides on some balconies
people hung up a fabric with the picture of Baby Jesus.
In our village it is typical to go to the midnight mass on
December 24th at twelve o'clock at night. Some years ago this
night people switched of the lights in the church and they let go
a rooster.
For New Year's Eve on December 31st the families joined to
have dinner and celebrated the New Year taking twelve grapes.
Later they went away to a party in the disco of the village.
Finally the day before The Three Wise Men´s Day, that is
to say, on January 5th it celebrated a cavalcade where parents
disguised themselves as Kings and gave candies to all the boys
and girls. Later gifts are distributed in the church to all those
who take part in the cavalcade.
